Through a purchase from the
Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF), 100% of the electricity powering Mt. Hood Meadows resort operations comes from clean, wind energy. Renewable Energy Certificates purchased from BEF since 2004 have supported enough renewable energy to power over 1,115 average U.S. homes for a year. MHM has been purchasing wind energy certificates since 2002 when it purchased enough renewable energy to offset operations of the Shooting Star and Vista chairlifts. Being powered with 100% wind energy demonstrates how MHM has grown its commitment to renewable energy over the years.
“We believe purchasing 100% renewable energy to power our resort is the right thing to do,” said Meadows CEO, Matthew Drake. “The success of our
SkiGreen Offset program demonstrates that our customers are very enthusiastic about renewable energy.”
