Meadows will be at the Portland Ski Fever and Snowboard Show November 15-17 at the Expo Center in a big way. We’ve expanded the space to accommodate our guests who will be able to get information on every aspect of recreating at Meadows this season.
BUDDY UP for Early Season Pass Pricing
We understand that many guests thought the deadline for season passes was the ski show (as it has been in past years), and are now concerned about missing that deadline. So we pulled a page out of our pass play book and are offering a “Buddy Up” special at the ski show. Bring a friend (or several friends) to the ski show, and you can get the early season price on your season pass when purchased together. So when two or more passes are purchased together at the show, you’ll get the early season price.
We’ll have our pass cameras to take pictures and issue passes right at the ski show. You can get discount coupons for the ski show at this link.
RIGLET TOUR STOP
It’s the biggest tour stop for the Burton Riglet Tour - we’re building an awesome deck with ramps to introduce ages 3 to 6 to Snowboarding. Using the Burton Riglet system, our phenomenal coaching staff will give the young ones their first lesson, and actually give them the feel and sensation of riding. It’s a great way to get ready for the season. We’ll have T-Shirts for the first 100 kids each day, along with tattoos and stickers!
SNOW SPORTS SERVICES
Meadows operates the largest ski and snowboard school in the Northwest. And all of our learning program products, packages and services will be on display at the ski show. Talk to our trusted advisors about what learning program will be ideal for you, or for your family. You’ll be able to sign up for upcoming sessions - Adult Clinics, Kids Holiday Camps, Weekend Youth and Adult Midweek sessions starting in January, or even daily kids and adult ski school lessons. Our professionally certified instructors are passionate about the sport and sharing it with you. Get stoked and stop by Snow Sports Services at the ski show.
Everyone knows the best deals of the season can be found at the ski show. Our sports shops are no exception - with last year’s new and demo skis and snowboards discounted up to 70% off the regular retail price. There are also great deals on outerwear and accessories to keep you warm and comfortable on the slopes, without breaking the bank.
HOOD RIVER DESTINATION PROPERTIES
Meadows has teamed up with Hood River and 14 lodging properties to offer guests greatly discounted lift passes. One day passes are $49 when staying at these properties - and there’s also a special 3-day pass for just $99! Junior lift passes are $30 a day. Hood River complements a Meadows getaway, whether for a weekend or the entire week. The 3-day pass can be used 3 of 5 days, to give you flexibility to explore the Gorge and enjoy the many dining, entertainment and retail experiences Hood River offers. These lodges also offer the 3 Time Learn to Ski or Snowboard Package for just $99 - so you can take a mini-vacation and learn to ski or snowboard.
MEADOWS GROUPS AND EVENT CATERING
Mt. Hood Meadows has become a featured event site for corporate meetings, team building sessions, recognition and rewards or client appreciation events. Find out how you can easily organize a group outing to Meadows, and let our group specialists take care of all the arrangements. Whether you’re just looking for a good deal on lift passes and rentals for a group of 15 or more, or want to put together a catered event, with private instruction, guided tours and a recognition program, we can put it together for you. And if you’re thinking about an awesome location for a wedding, we can make those arrangements, too.
Let’s face it, with an average of 100+ buses arriving at Meadows each week, we’re in the transportation business! Our weekend and midweek transportation programs will be featured at the ski show, as will our partnerships with shuttle services.
We’re looking forward to seeing you at the Portland Ski Fever and Snowboard Show, November 15-17 at the Expo Center!

Largest selection and greatest variety of 2014 equipment available
The Outer Limits and High Performance Center will kick off the season with a two-day celebration at Mt. Hood Meadows Saturday and Sunday, November 2nd and 3rd. The shops will have the Manufacturer’s representatives from Anon, Atomic, Blackstrap, Blizzard, Bonfire, Burton, Celtek, Dragon, Dynastar, Electric, Fischer, GNU, Hestra, K2 Skis, K2 Snowboards, Kjus, Lange, Lib Tech, Marmot, Neff, Never Summer, Nike, Nikita, One Ball Jay, Poc, Pow Gloves, Rossignol, Roxy, Salomon Skis, Salomon Snowboards, Skullcandy, Smith, Stance, Tecnica, and Volkl will be available in the shops each day to meet, greet, interact and educate guests who are interested in new gear and apparel.
The kick off will offer up the best insight and knowledge on 2014 equipment for those looking not only for the best deals but the best advice on the equipment that will fit their skiing and riding styles.

Meadows pass holders will receive 20% off regular retail pricing with added discounts on select equipment and apparel. The snow from Monday and Tuesday grew to half-a-foot in the base area. It most likely will be gone by the weekend, but even so the fresh taste tends to bring out the most passionate enthusiasts who want to hike for some turns. That's OK, but please keep this in mind:
We are in the transition period from summer/fall maintenance and projects to active ski season preparations and set up.
Up until the time we begin active set-up for winter operations i.e. track-packing/grooming, ramp building, chair seat installation, avalanche mitigation efforts, running rope/closures, tower-pads, etc. we will not enforce our no up-hill travel policy that is in place throughout the winter.
- There is currently no patrol or other assistance available.
- There is no hazard marking (low snow conditions create unexpected and barely visible hazards).
- Visitors are on their own and we strongly encourage that they go elsewhere.
- Once we start set-up we will no longer allow up-hill travel.
- As always sledding is not allowed (there are many other areas on Mt. Hood that accommodate that activity).
If you do come up our Sports Shops are open from 10 AM - 4 PM Wednesdays - Sundays, and you can get your season pass picture issued (or purchase a pass as well). Those who have their 2013/14 pass (or have renewed last year's pass) will receive 20% off all the new product in our sports shops!
Check out our Deep Snow ski selection - according to George Taylor's season forecast - you're going to need them!
Outer Limits Sports Designed for Our Elements
We've been receiving the new 2012 product at our retail shops and our staff is absolutely stoked about telling you about it. Outer Limits Sports manager Allison Wright is bringing in more local (Oregon and NW based companies) because in many cases their products perform better in our climate and weather conditions on Mt. Hood. Having the right jacket, pants, base layers and accessories can make an otherwise marginal (or stormy) weather day a great experience. Some of the best riding happens when the weather isn't blue bird. It's also a more sustainable approach doing business locally.
HPC - All About Customizing
At the High Performance Center it's all about customizing your equipment selection and fit to the terrain and surface conditions you want. The boot lab was hugely successful last year in its initial season - so much so that we're sending additional techs to Master Fit school this fall. It's amazing what a custom fit can do for comfort and performance - it all pretty much starts with the boot. The knowledge our staff brings to your selection is key - they get on this equipment and test it in all kinds of different weather and conditions. They know what performs ideally - talk to other guests who demo as well as our pro instructional staff. You receive the benefit of this local knowledge to make the most of the time you spend skiing or riding at Meadows.
With that in mind, we are pleased to present Tech Talks this season - our HPC and Outer Limits staff talking to you about their gear favorites. Check out this blog, as well as our retail sport shop specials page for updates throughout the season. Check out these series of videos in the player below talking about specific products in the shops which are staff believes will improve your enjoyment and performance at Meadows.

A reminder to season passholders that you will receive a one-time 20% off your purchase of $200 or more in October. The shops are open Tuesdays - Saturdays from 9 AM - 3 PM, but you can make personal shopping appointments with our staff. Get more details here.
