   My favorite beginner run would probably have to be mitchell creek. I love the layout of it and when its really snowy, going into the creek itself. Overall, best green :)

   i gotta say that my favorite double black has gotta be heather canyon! withoutta doubt! it has cliffs, awesome snow, all the time. and the sheer exilleration i get everytime i think about taking it. I can't sleep at night because I'm so excited about hitting it up the next day! Shred Hard!

   this is my first real season snowboarding after three beginner's lessons last year. now with a season pass and my own gear i'm hooked. have spent a lot of time on buttercup getting the hang of it, but will never forget my first trip up vista express (on dec 23 i think)....took a lot to convince myself to try it. the view is unbelievable! i think i sat at the top for about half an hour taking it all in....then ran my ty three times that day. it was completely exhilirating (and exhausting!)
   
   after reading about all the terrain that i have yet to explore on this blog, i am more excited than ever. looking forward to six adult midweek lessons to take me to the next level. thanks meadows!

   I've been spending quite a bit of time teaching the kids (5 & 9) over the last few years, and we started out at Mitchel Creek and The Zoo. We have alot of fun over there. It will, almost certainly, be our first run of the 2010 / 2011 season (next week maybe???).

   Super novice skier in my 4th season up here. My resolution is to trust my abilities and get on the blue runs this year (no laughing). However, still trying to get my wife and daughter off Buttercup. What's the best (easiest) blue to run?
   
   Meadows: Consider advancing to the Easy Rider lift and taking Mitchell Creek. I also suggest a lesson with one of our coaching pros to guide them in the right direction, build confidence and technique.

   On January 23, I went skiing for the second time in thirty years with my Brazillian daughter (her second time.) Vista Ridge and Mitchel Creeks were fantastic for us, new skiers, and a bit challenging in parts. What a beautiful day and the views are to die for. Thanks to the wonderful staff at Mt Hood Meadows and especially for Deverton for teaching my 7 year old daughter.

   I just started snowboarding this year. Late in the season, actually. And, the first thing that I can say is that I regret getting into it this late in life. Meadows is the first and only resort that I've been to, and I don't see any reason to go to any other in the area. I just love it up there!!
   
   I did take advantage of the 3-pack lesson plan, and the spring pass, and now I'm comfortable with traversing the green courses. However, I have had some difficulty following the routes on the map that Meadows has available, since some routes seem to overlap in color. Even with utilizing the map and trail signage, I managed to accidentally end up on a "black diamond", or two---OUCH!!!
   
   As much as I'd like to go for a few more lessons/guides, I'm already well past $3K for the year, in investing into this new hobby. Any advice on how I can better acclimate myself to the green routes on my own?
   
   Meadows: Lessons with a pro is still the most efficient way to gain proficiency, making the sport more enjoyable. But there's also a need for "mileage" so getting some time working on the technique and principles taught in the lesson is necessary to create the muscle memory which will make it more natural and fun. There's nothing wrong with coming and hitting the appropriate terrain until you're comfortable with that level. Also - hooking up with friends of about the same ability level is always more fun!

   Want a really good run? Take Mt. Hood Meadoes express (4 person quad) up the mountain. Take Ridge Run and when you come to the fork of Gingivitis and Dental Floss, take the one on your right. (I think it's Dental Floss).
   
   Then at the end of Dental Floss you are supposed to go left to the load area of Cascade Express. DON'T DO IT!
   
   Instead, take another right and go uphill. It will look like you are going the opposite way on a one way trail (yes you are) but you get to the very top of the Daisy lift. Keep going, and instead of turning left down the mountain into Daisy Bowl, just try to stay as far right (into the mountain) as possible without going uphill. You will come to a series of ramps which are very fun, ending in a big drop and a big ramp. Then you go down a small 30 foot hill into Mitchell Creek!
   
   In Mitchell Creek, keep going. Then right after the entrance of the terrain park, (The Zoo) turn left into the forest for some deep powder, tree-ski awesomeness!
   
   In the end you will come to the Buttercup area but instead of going to Buttercup, curve left towards the lodge and get to Mount Hood Express to do the whole thing over again! (Comming out of Mitchell Creek and trying to get to Mount Hood Express may involve a short amount of cross-country as you will lose a lot of speed near the lodge)
   
   This run (a run meaning a combination of trails) is the best one I have ever done and I keep repeating it over and over again even though I could just go on some black diamonds. This run has great views, natural/excellent ramps, and a chance to do some tree-skiing in some nice powder!
   
   This run is good for kids too. Next time I reccomend you try it out.
   
   Meadows: We officially name this run "Arkafan"!

   Oops, sorry. I said Ridge Run but I meant taking Chunky Swirly and then taking Cascade Skiway I beleive. That leads you to the top of Daisy like I said earlier.
