Snow Update

This storm has been amazing - and the weather statement issued last Thursday by the weather service could not have been more accurate. They forecast 2 - 3 feet and so far since Friday we've received 34"! This certainly is helping to propel us into an early opening.

We thought you'd enjoy this picture of the snow from the South Lodge Deck.

And the good news is that it continues to snow and there is more in the forecast before our opening. In fact, Meteorologist Rod Hill who was at our booth Saturday and Sunday at the ski show sees powder on opening day - scheduled for this Wednesday, November 11!

Check our blog or the conditions page - we'll give you updates as to what lifts and terrain will be open. So get ready - the 2009/10 is almost here!

    Awesome! We will see if getting there at 7:30 means first in line. Can't want to start the new season and try out all the new gear. Any word on when HRM is going to open?

    Meadows: Arriving at 7:30 will give you time to enjoy a Meadows Muffin before headin' to the lifts, which are scheduled to start at 9 AM. HRM needs more snow, but we'll operate as soon as we have the depth needed.

    Hi
    I live in Hood River and would really like to get my pass picture taken before Wednesday. Is there any way to get it done at the mountain today or tomorrow? It was good last year when there Meadows took pass picture at the hotel in town.

    Meadows: We can take pictures at the ski area Tuesday. We start taking pictures Wednesday at 8 AM.

    Awesome news! When will you know what will be open? On Wednesday, and then looking out to the weekend too.

    If you are trying to trick people by moving the temperature gauge up to the TOP of Mt. hood express, instead of at the base, where people care what the temperature is, you are not. Its just now if it reads 31 degrees, i have to estimate what the temperature is at the base, to see if it is snowing or raining. Its now just an inconvenience. Either have one at the top and the bottom, or just at one of the lodges (It would be nice to have one at HRM too)

    Meadows: No trick. The upper telemetry is updated every 5 minutes as opposed to once an hour which is the case at the bottom. This gives us more consistent and reliable data. We also provide a link to the 24 hour telemetry where you can see both the upper and lower readings. We also have cameras at the bottom of Vista which shows what the weather is (snowing or raining).

    Dave, a few years back you opened on Veterans Day and it was free for vets and active enlisted. Any chance of that? thx
