Giving thanks at Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort

With the holiday season approaching we would like to celebrate the many things for which we are grateful. So many times we get caught up in the holidays – especially in a winter recreation business where Thanksgiving weekend typically signals the kick off to the season.

We are grateful that we’ll be able to share and enjoy the wonder of skiing and snowboarding with our guests this Thanksgiving.

We are thankful for our loved ones, the unconditional warmth, support and love they provide.

We are thankful for the relationship we have developed and fostered with our partners in recreation over the past 42 years – our many loyal guests, the community in which we live and work, the U.S. Forest Service and our incredible group of professional vendors, suppliers and consultants.

We are grateful for our Northwest weather for delivering the 430 inches of annual snowfall which adorns Mt. Hood so beautifully, giving us a long and enjoyable season of recreating.

We appreciate our leadership team for anticipating the needs of our guests and creating a unique and rewarding experience that fascinates our staff and guests.

We give thanks to our hard working and devoted crew that dedicates itself daily to providing an ideal mountain recreation and hospitality experience for our guests.

We are most grateful to our loyal guests who have chosen to make Mt. Hood Meadows a part of their lives.

    I am thankful for a healthy family!

    Now, let me be thankful this weekend to the opening of Heather Canyon; how close is it?

    Meadows: Still building bridges requiring more snow. We will open it and announce it here as soon as we have enough snow to go (something we'll all be thankful for!)

    I'm thankful for the fact that me and my car made it down from the main lot yesterday morning in one piece!

    In all seriousness, after the horrible crash last week that took one life and ultimately will have affected countless others, we all need to appreciate the priceless opportunity available to enjoy what the mountain proffers, but in our eagerness to do so, remember that the trip to & from – which might seem a mere pesky task – demands its own respect; for the safety of yourself and all the others traveling the mountain roads.

    I must say I am very impressed with the new lift line operations, you guys really got your act together.

    I was up this Saturday the 21st, and it was an absolute madhouse. I think everybody in Oregon must have flown in their entire family and went to the mountain that day.

    The new method for getting people on the lifts is much better, having single 4 man lines for quads on either side are easily manned by 1 person waving 1 side in at a time keeping the chairs full.

    Last year was an absolute nightmare comparatively, on MHX with each side having two lanes of 4 + singles people were constantly cutting line and going out early screwing the entire system up.

    I am thankful for the last two weeks of great skiing that mo nature has provided us with! I'm thankful for the new passes that make scanning much easier. I'm thankful for the much more engaging and passionate lift ops staff this year. I'm also very thankful for my loving wife who lets me ski while she works :)

    I dont see any holiday hours up. Does that mean Meadows is open Thanksgiving and Christmas?

    Meadows: We're open every day for the rest of the season, including all the holidays.
    Thanksgiving: 9 am - 4 pm
    Friday: 9 am - 9 pm
    Saturday: 9 am - 9 pm
    Sunday: 9 am - 9 pm
    Monday: 9 am - 4 pm
    Tuesday: 9 am - 4 pm
    Wednesday: 9 am - 9 pm
    Thursday: 9 am - 9 pm
    etc.....

    Thank you Meadows team. I drove up this weekend and one of my group members forgot his jacket. Would have been a terrible, but Brian from rentals lent out his own personal jacket. Thank you so much Brian, your a life saver!
