Park Notes: Step Up Jump Added On Vista Heights

UPDATE: Our phenominal lift maintenance crew launched Vista Express at 9:46 AM. The Vista Superpipe Awaits! Snow reporter David Schor took the ride up to get the shot. Below the pictures is information about the new Step Up jump on Vista.

Jason Stankevich Freestyle Grooming Manager reports that a new step-up feature has been built in the Vista Park. It is located up on the ridge, far skiers right shortly after Nate's Other Way joins Texas Trails.

It will be open today unless the cold weather affects the operation of Vista and Cascade - both are scheduled but we had issues with the diesel in the auxillary engines freezing Monday. Cascade was opened Monday - and we are shooting for both lifts operating as scheduled Tuesday.

We should have some pictures of the step up and the superpipe later today. Here's a shot that was taken by Chris Williams just before the Superpipe opened last Thursday.

    Whats up with park place? Are we ever going to get it up and running?

    Meadows: Yes - as soon as we have the snow depth needed to build the awesome features that terrain supports. Parks crew is chomping at the bit to get it going - we just need more snow.

    Loving the parks so far this year, great job! I would like to make one suggest however....i think you guys should really consider implementing a park pass sort of system. Like other mountains have done where you have to watch a video or something to learn park etiquette and saftey before your allowed to ride the park. I love the parks but dont even really go anymore because very few people who ride them at Meadows actually know how to ride them safely and respect other riders in the parks. Often in the more beginner parks its really becomming a saftey issue as well as a big annoyance to deal with.

    I think that's a great idea to have a terrain park pass system. Maybe just having a video with an online test.
