Parks Crew On the Ball

Freestyling is all about finding new and creative ways to express yourself. That's why we work with Kurt Heine of Heine tools to develop features for our parks. Kurt sent us some pictures of his latest innovation which we are calling "The Ball".

Kurt Heine building Kurt Heine buidling "The Ball" at Mt. Hood Meadows Ski & Snowboard Resort
It is a gigantic globe, mounted on a four sided pedastal. Each pedastal has a trapezoidal face which should allow approaching it from three sides. A skilled stall on the top could even bring the down side into play on the dismount.

"The Ball" will be appearing soon most likely in Forest Park. So come to Meadows and get on the Ball! Have a Ball at Meadows! OK - that could be a little lame. Do you have a better name for this new feature?

Sick. Man what happened? You guys are really stepping it up this year.... Can I throw in a request for a 15-25 stair with a rail down the middle and a couple hubba ledges on the sides?

    hmm... looks interesting

set up some more down rails in the forest park - like the down square ledge that was at shipyard for a short time or the flat down rails. the ones that were at rose city those were good

That's so rad, i'm stoked to hit that. I have one suggestion though... It would be pretty nice if you guys could paint the lips and knuckles of the jumps in the parks because a lot of the time they're hard to spot out. Maybe just the knuckles..

This looks fun . Could we please ride all the stuff you already have though. I see rails all over the sides of shipyard and beyond, but nothing in the park. I see some motivated park crew trying to get smaller items set up for us, but then 2 days later that jibs gone too? Seems like after last year things would have changed. Maybe its time?

    the retard magnet ball
this type of circus hype has nothing to do with skiing...

Meadows: But it does have a lot to do with having fun, building skills and expressing one's self - which embraces the postive aspects the sport provides.

A staircase would be dope, and so would a full jib line with some flow. no stop and go!! and how about radial jibulator for the orb thing.

BIG thanks to park crew for fixin up forest park today.Looks great in there. Maybe some more tecnical jibs like the one in shipyard would be cool. Its definatly been a park year due to El Nino, and 95% of my days have been riding your parks so keep them dialed in and think diversity. thx

jibber, I was skiing and riding, jumping and spinning before you were born, try getting out of the park and ride the WHOLE mountain. Yes I ride and ski, both, North to South, East to West, the entire mountain, if you spend most of your time in the park, you need to be more creative and skillful for all aspects of sliding. I like to jump and hit the park, but bouncing off objects has little to do with actual skiing (ie-acrobatics=circus hype)...it's more for those who don't enjoy natural terrain or it wouldn't be popular with the kids...Ever notice how the Olympics don't have rails or hits for an event???
