   wasn't the midweek significantly cheaper last year? i guess it is more profitable to force people who ski midweek to buy the unlimited pass.
   
   Meadows: Same pricing as last year. Keep in mind that the unlimited pass @ $449 is greatly discounted from the normal price of $900 after November 7. The midweek price remains at $500.

   Is there anything additional discount for keeping my season pass from last year? I was really looking forward to a discount as had been implied: "We'll be announcing pricing for renewing season passes later this summer and provide an easy way for you to go online to renew" (April 22 Email from Dave Tragethon).
   
   So, there is no difference in price between "renewing" a season pass and buying a "new" season pass except for the "[ease]" of renewal?

    Meadows: Thanks for the question. When either SkiCheck or Cooper Spur add ons were purchased last season, we physically printed or stickered those services on last year's pass. So an activated pass from last year will provide the pass holder the same add on services this year. We're looking at a way to remove the physical nature of providing those services in the future, but for now in order to renew a pass we need to have the same add-ons.
    By the way, if your pass last year did not have these add ons, you can add them later at the ski area at your convenience. That will result in a reissued pass (at no cost) but you could do it at anytime.
    For those that purchased these add ons last year but don't want them this year, you can go to the pass store and purchase a pass. We have many picture taking opportunities which you'll find on our web site.

    The renewed season pass price is NOT the same! Last year you offered a renewal rate of $399 for passes purchased in the spring for the following season.
    This year you have increased the price by $50 (12.5%).
    
    Meadows: Last year's very early season offer was definitely a great deal which some of our guests took advantage of. But it was intended to be a one time offer which we made very clear that price would not be available again. This year's $449 price is just $5 more than the $444 price we offered two seasons ago - and to get that you needed to form or join a group. The $449 price, and the ability to renew a pass without having to retake a picture represents the most convenient and affordable pass value we've ever offered.
    We listened to you, our loyal pass holder, who asked not to have to join a group to get their pass, and to be able to renew online. We are being responsive to those requests, which we believe is the best service we can offer to pass holders.
    We do appreciate you taking advantage of the early season offer, and we hope you recognize the great value (and deal) a $449 Unlimited Pass to Mt. Hood Meadows represents.
    And - if you want that $50 offer - consider adding $200 of value to your pass - we'll bonus you an additional $50!

    I also purchased my early season pass for last year for $399; but wasn't the end date for that sale sometime around the end of May?

    Meadows: Season ski check is $35 - the daily rate is $3. The very early season promo that we did last season required purchase of a pass by May of 2009 for the 2009/10 season.

    What are the daily ticket prices going to be? I looked at the website and it said $69 a day, with premium prices on all weekends through March 7th. Is the $69 the premium weekend price? If so, what is the weekday price?
    
    So what is the price to go up on a weekend day in December? January? What is a weekday price in December and January?
    
    Meadows: Thanks for the post - and sorry for the confusion. The price will be $69 for a "shift" ticket (9 AM - 4 PM) both weekend and midweek. We will also have an online offer @ $64. When this ticket is used midweek you'll receive a $10 voucher to use in on of our restaurants that day.

    This year could the staff keep the access for the wheelchairs open and cleared of snow. I do realize when its contunually snowing this area builds up, but often times I would show up and the parking lot was plowed but there was about 6" of snow getting up to the wheelchair access door into the main lodge.

    Guys it is tough economic times on all fronts. Your prices are up like just like everthing else.... except wages. Can't aford to renew my season pass at the new rate; and 10-pass isn't much better.
    
    How about a 5-pass for those with less green $$$ this year?
    
    Meadows: The season pass and 10 Time Passes represent the best values we have to offer. We don't have a 5 time pass although last season we offered a 5 time midweek pass which wasn't very popular. These prices are offered through November 7, so give it some thought - these really are the best deals available.

    Meadows: The earliest Meadows has opened is October 20, so it is unlikely that we would be open by October 15. Our normal opening is just before Thanksgiving (last year we opened November 11). La Nina continues to build with an outlook of increased snowfall for the Pacific Northwest through the winter!

    If I'am to understand this correctly :
    I purchase a $449 pass
    And add $400 in value for a new total of $500
    $25 per $100 =$500
    I can then purchase another season pass for my spouse with fifty dollars left over towards ski check. 2 passes for $425 and 50 left over
    
    Meadows: The September Value Add Bonus is offered only one of two increments - if you add $100 we'll bonus you an additional $25; OR if you add $200 we'll bonuse you an additional $50. But the value on your pass can be applied towards other pass or ticket purchases at the resort (but not for online purchases). Take advantage of it - it's a great deal!

    Meadows: There aren't any student-specific discounts on season passes - the discounts are based on ages. The pass is not transferable, although a pro-rated refund is available for those who have to move away from the area during the season. Thanks for the post!

    Most resorts will give discounts to college students. I was planning to buy a season pass for Mt.Hood but wanted to check the discount for college students,is there one?
    I'll be attendind Western Oregon University.
    
    Meadows: You'll want to check out our College Pass - it costs $10 but then gives you $10 off on weekends, and $20 off midweek non-holiday days. It also offers a $10 off a Meadows After Dark (3 - 9 PM) lift ticket. By the way - we extended this pass to High School students this season as well.

    Meadows: Yes if you purchase directly - you can't use the Value Add online. So you'd need to come to the different picture taking events that we have scheduled prior to November 7 to get the preseason deal and apply the Added Value.

    Meadows: Yes - because you will be using the very same pass as you used last year. Renew online, then fax, scan and email or send in your signed liability release and your pass from last season will be activated so you can go direct to lift without having to get a new picture or have a pass issued.     This forum has significant discussion on the topic and Meadows has asserted the $500. price (also described midway down this page). Yet elsewhere, under "Season Passes - Individual Passes," it appears to be priced at $399.00

    Meadows: The $399 is a new price on the very same product. It's valid every Monday - Friday that we're open (except December 27 - 31). We listened to our guests and offered this price for those that truly only want to come midweek. See you on the mountain!

    I have purchased and renewed my pass for next year and sent in a scanned copy of my liability release form. Will I get a confirmation so that I know it's all set and ready to go? I really want to avoid any on the mountain problems when I show up to ski? Thanks for looking for more efficient ways to do these things.

    Meadows: Not at this time. With the price being reduced as low as it is we didn't think there would be many takers. But a good question - if we were to have a payment plan - say pay $250 down and the rest by January 1 (otherwise your pass is deactivated) would we get many takers?

    I am glad to see that you got rid of 4x4, it was a lot of nuisance involved in getting a pass at a published price. It also looks like you decided to follow the nation-wide trend with reasonably low priced season pass prices which offset the high lift ticket prices, so a season pass pays for itself in just a few days. I hope this new approach will be commercially successful and will enable you to keep on doing it in the future.
    
    With my $369 (early spring price) Squaw Valley pass second season in a row, I was reluctant to even consider a Meadows pass for this winter, and certainly not 4x4 at any price because of the hassle involved (I always hated it when Meadows pushed customers to become almost door-to-door salesmen to put together a group of 4), but with the announced pricing for individual passes I am tempted and probably will get one this season.

    To use the occasion, let me provide some feedback on my past experience at the resort.
    
    Please train your lift attendants to be more proactive with helping young kids with getting on the lift. I will be going through the experience of getting our younger kid on the skis starting this season, and I've been paying attention to what lifties do in CO, UT, CA, and Canadian major ski areas. The best practice which one sees a lot in CA but much less at other areas is that there is always someone behind the chair to help if there is a small kid in the group which is about to get on the chair. One does not have to ask as at many other resorts. Such level of customer service makes great impression - unfortunately I have not seen much of it at the Meadows.
    
    Also, further effort to bring better quality food and more health-minded food to your fast food areas will be appreciated. Granted, I may have overlooked some recent improvements because I generally avoided Meadows in the past two seasons, but when I had season passes in the recent past and skied 20+ days per year, the quality/value to price ratio was below average even for the low standards of food at ski resorts. (I am not talking here about your upscale restaurant, that one is good but it takes too much time to get lunch there, and it is on the pricey side)

    So this is my first year buying a season pass, and i am 17, so I am getting the $339 deal, but does that include night skiing too? Because that would be a big bummer if i payed that much money for a season pass and had to end my snowboarding at 3 o'clock....
    
    Meadows: The $339 (age 15 - 22) pass includes night skiing as well so we've got you covered - your good every day from 9 AM to whenever the lifts close (Monday and Tuesday: 4 PM / Wednesday - Sunday 9 PM plus extra nights during the Christmas holiday time frame).
    The only nights that pass holders need to pay for lift access are the special fund-raising nights like the Hood River Rotary Club Scholarship Fund Raiser, which is held on Monday, January 17. This is in addition to our normal night operational schedule and everyone who wants to ride lifts after 4 PM pays $10 which goes to the scholarship fund.

    Last year you had the under 6 for $9. This year it seems under 6 is free with an adult unlimited. Is this correct? Any discounts for those purchasing a 10 pack?
    
    Meadows: Correct - 6 and under is free when parent or grand parent purchase an unlimited season pass. The $349 10 time pass price is the best price available - after November 7 it increases to $399.

    Meadows: Thanks for the question. We have a special for those purchasing their passes online in September. When you add $100 to your pass, we'll bonus you an additional $25, for a total $125 added value. If you add $200 to your pass, we'll bonus you an additional $50 for a total of $250 added value. You can add value to your pass, and you can add value to your son's pass, too, independently. You'll be able to use the added value on your pass for purchases at the ski resort in our restaurants, ski school, retail shops, rentals, for day care, etc.

    I bought a 5-time pass last spring, but want to get an unlimited pass this season. Should I "renew" my last season's pass to the unlimited or should I purchased a new pass altogether? Also, can these discount passes be purchased at any of the picture-taking sites?
    
    Meadows: Great questions! Only the unlimited passes or 10 time passes are renewable. So you'll want to purchase the unlimited pass this season. The discounted passes will be available for purchase at our picture-taking sites on a limited basis. We would prefer that everyone purchase online in advance if possible, which will speed up the picture taking / issuing process at the picture-taking sites. It takes longer for us to enter all the information into our season pass computer at those locations. Thanks!

    Will the midweek pass be valid on weekends when you go weekends only late in the season? Yes, I understand midweek but thought I would ask.
    
    Meadows: That's a fair question. The midweek pass is only valid Monday - Friday, so it wouldn't be valid on those extended weekends in May.

    Meadows: No 3x3 necessary as we have lifted the group requirement. So the current $339 price will still be available individually at the ski show. Prices increase to $600 for an individual after the ski show.

But last year the prices were higher at the ski show then they will be this year - for example the adult pass was $499 last year, it's $449 this year. So you can purchase season ski check for $35 and still pay less than last year's ski show deal!

    hi, i am 16 years old and i am planning on purchasing your seaon pass for 399 dollars and i just had a couple of questions. my first is when does the season officially start and end. second, i am planning on doing this with at least 6 other friends who are all under 18, is there any discount when doing that? and lastly what exactly do i need to do to get the pass besides just paying for it online. do i need to send in a picture or what? thank you
    
    Meadows: Good questions! The season will start as soon as we get snow - usually just before Thanksgiving. We operate daily through May 1, and have extended weekend operations in May.
    After you purchase online, you'll need to sign a liability release form (with parent signature if under 18), and bring it to one of our picture taking events (look on the front page of our web site). Or you can bring it to the mountain your first visit. We'll take your picture and issue your pass.
