Holiday Events and Operating Schedule

Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort holiday season kicks off this weekend. For the next two weeks Meadows has scheduled special Après Ski live performances and holiday entertainers, as well as ski school clinics and camps. Lifts are scheduled to operate daily beginning at 9 AM, including Christmas and New Year’s Days and there will be extended night operations during Christmas week. It culminates with a New Year’s Eve spectacular, exquisite dinner, fireworks and a party with “The Essentials” the top rated dance party band on the west coast!

We will be operating from 9 AM – 9 PM daily through January 2, except for Friday, December 24 (Christmas Eve) when lifts close at 4 PM, and Friday, December 31 (New Year’s Eve) when lifts operate until 12:15 AM.

MEADOWS AFTER DARK evening operations are normally offered Wednesday through Sunday evenings until 9 PM. Modifications to this schedule include Christmas Eve when lifts will close at 4 PM. From December 25 – January 2 Meadows will operate lifts until 9 PM, adding to extra evenings of Meadows After Dark. On New Year’s Eve lifts operate an extra hour, not closing until after 12:15 AM. 

TWILIGHT KIDS CLUB which is normally offered Saturdays and Sundays will be offered each evening from December 25 – January 2. This provides 4 to 12 year olds supervision from 3 – 7 PM, with a 2 hour lesson in between, dinner and a lift ticket for just $75 – and Mom or Dad gets a 3 – 9 PM Meadows After Dark ticket for free! 

PARK & RIDE SHUTTLE FROM PORTLAND RUNS DAILY from December 18 through January 2 (EXCEPT DECEMBER 24 AND 25 Christmas Eve and Christmas Day). The shuttle picks up at three convenient metro-area locations. Bus seats must be purchased in advance through the resort’s web site SkiHood.com.

NORDIC CENTER OPEN DAILY December 16 - January 2 from 9 AM - 4 PM.

Dec. 18: Grand Masters Clinic
Designed for seniors who are intermediate or above skiers or riders. Modern techniques specifically designed to help you ski / ride more easily and efficiently so you can get the most out of your day. 

Dec. 18-19: Ski with Santa
Santa’s revving up for his big night so here’s your chance to give him your last-minute Christmas list.

Dec. 18-19: Jack Quinby Holiday Brass
Let the Holiday Brass bring the spirit of the season to you and yours. Light-hearted and lively arrangements will bring smiles to the faces of the group’s audience. The Holiday Brass is a quartet of some of the most in-demand players from our area. They'll be playing Holiday Brass music throughout the lodge.

Dec. 18-19: Acoustic Minds performs Live at Meadows Après Ski 3 – 6:30 PM Vertical
Sweet soul driven harmonies over tight powerful songwriting. Influences vary from deep soul filled blues to rock and jazz. Live performances are a must see for this twin fronted group. Apres Ski at the Vertical Restaurant and Sports Bar.

Dec. 19: All Mountain Carving Clinic
All day session allow instructors to address all the goals of participants wherever they want to go on the mountain. It’s a great way to kick start your technique for some holiday riding.

Dec. 19: NW Ski & Snowboard Demo Tour
More than a dozen manufacturers are expected on this on-snow demo allowing you to test the latest ski and snowboard equipment. This is a great “try before you buy” opportunity. No charge to demo, although credit card and driver’s license are required. Liability releases required so those under 18 need to bring Mom or Dad to demo.

Dec. 20-22: 3 Day Freestyle Camp
For those wanting to learn freestyle technique of intermediate or more advanced ability. Make reservations @ 503.337.2222 x1419.

Dec. 20-22: 3 Day Holiday Kids Camp
Designed for youth from ages 6 - 12, we team up the kids with others their same age and ability with four hours of on the snow instruction from a certified pro each day. Supervision is provided all day and lunch is included. Make reservations @ 503.337.2222 x1419.

Dec. 26-28: Mark of Mystery Illusionist performs Live 3 – 6:30 PM Vertical
Mark is a self taught illusionist, starting at the early age of 10. He's been entertaining audiences with the art of magic for 19 years!

Dec. 29-30: Jesta performs Live at Meadows Après Ski 3 – 6:30 PM Vertical
Formed in Marquette Michigan in 2003, Jesta moved to Portland and hit the scene with great original music, and exciting live performances every. Alternative / Rock / Electronica to get revved up for an evening on the slopes or celebrate your day. 

Dec. 31: New Year's Eve Celebration presented by Widmer Brothers Brewing
Mt. Hood Meadows celebrates New Year's Eve with a fireworks display, spectacular buffet dinner and party featuring “The Essentials” – the top rated dance band on the west coast! We'll run the lifts until Midnight to allow revelers to ski or ride in the New Year. A fireworks display will be launched at around 10 PM. The dinner has two seatings (5 - 6:30 and 7 - 8:30) and “The Essentials” will perform from 8 PM - 12:15 AM!
Brrring in the New Year at Mt. Hood Meadows - presented by Widmer Brothers Brewing and Brrr Seasonal Ale. Adult party buses scheduled from the Monarch Hotel in Clackamas. Purchase tickets, dinners, party and bus seats online in advance.

Jan. 1: College Bowl Games on the Big Screen TVs at the Vertical Restaurant and Sports Bar.

Jan. 2: Telemark Clinic
For beginning through expert telemark skiers. Traditional “loose heel” Nordic downhill skiing technique embellished by modern equipment and instructional techniques. Participants will be grouped based on ability level and desired outcomes.

    Will their be another demo day? There were a few skis I didn't get a chance to try at the last one.

    Meadows: The NW Demo tour is scheduled to return to Meadows in March - watch our calendar for the date.

    When will 2011 New Years Eve Fireworks and Party tickets
    go on sale?

    Meadows: Those are generally available by mid-November. It was a great event this year - and next season we'll be celebrating on a Saturday night!

    FYI Christmas Eve and News Year Eve are on Monday's not Fridays like you update states.
