We are rapidly approaching the inaugural Ski to Defeat ALS event that The ALS Association is hosting at Mt. Hood Meadows on Saturday, April 14, 2012.
The support has been tremendous, to say the least, and we are closing in on our aggressive collective event goal of $100.000. Everyone has been so eager to help me that Team Fredinator has gone way beyond our wildest expectations. It is likely that we will exceed our team goal of $40,000! WOW! The question is: how much further can we go with this?
The answer is up to you. We have had donations of $10.00 to $11,000.00 Everything counts and whatever amount you donate, please know that you are a part of "Team Fredinator", with equal status of those who have opened their hearts and minds to fighting this dreadful disease.
If you have not joined my team, and plan to come to the event, please know that all participants, skiers, boarders and guests, must register by April 6, 2012. That is coming up fast!
For those that wish to ski or board that day, there is a $75 registration fee that includes your exclusive lift ticket, food and beverages for the day as well as participation in the contests and auction. Once registered, all participants are asked to collect a minimum of $150 in pledges. This is easy, I promise. Think of 10 friends who could each give up Starbucks for a week and donate $15. This minimum must be met by the day of the event in order to participate.
The Fredinator is practicing for the April 14 ALS event.
For those that wish to just come up for the food and beverages, and not play on the mountain, there is a $25 guest fee.
In order to make it easy for you to participate, please contact Meagan Lancaster, at The ALS Association. She can get you signed up and explain everything you need to know in order to participate - either as a skier or boarder or as a guest. She can be reached at 503.238.5559 ext 2 or email@example.com.
For those who have already joined or made their donations, you have my deepest gratitude and I look forward to seeing you
on Saturday, April 14, 2012.
