Learn to Ski or Snowboard with a Friend

Every ski resort has a learn to ski or snowboard package, which includes a beginner lift ticket, equipment rental and lesson. Through December 21, Mt. Hood Meadows will also add in your best friend! The resort if offering an early season opportunity for enthusiasts to couple up and get a great deal on their first time on the mountain.

The individual package sells for $75 and includes a lift day pass for the Buttercup beginner lift, which also includes the Ballroom Carpet – Mt. Hood’s only enclosed over-the-snow conveyor. Also included is ski or snowboard equipment from the resort’s equipment rental center, and a two-hour group lesson taught by a professional instructor. 

The special “Add a Friend for Free” allows two people to take the beginner package together for just $75. No reservations are needed, simply come to the resort and register at the resort’s equipment rental center. Participants must be 13 or older, and a parental consent form is required for those under age 18. Purchases are made at the mountain between November 26th and December 21st, and must be redeemed between the dates of November 26th and December 21st.

    It will be truly a deal if you extend the offer to 4-13 years too.

    Meadows: Thanks TJ. We have given this much thought, but it really comes down to the needs of our younger guests require smaller class sizes and longer instructional times, which both lead to additional costs. We have found that trying to increase group size for these ages, or mixing those under 13 with adults is not productive. Our younger guests are best accommodated through our Children's Learning Center, which offers this more personalized learning experience daily.

    I wanted to get this for my grandsons but the time you can use it is too confining. The time after Christmas is booked up with relative visits and activities.

    Meadows: Thanks Claudia. If you are a Costco member, you should consider the $99 3 Time Learn to ski or snowboard package. This is for ages 13 and older - it includes three days of lift passes (first two days on Buttercup - last day all mountain pass), equipment rentals and 2 hour lessons each day. It's a terrific value and a great Christmas present.

    I am planning on coming in tomorrow and buying this deal with a friend. Is there a certain time the lessons are taught?

    Meadows: Lessons go out at 10 AM and 1 PM. If you like, after your morning lesson you can upgrade to a 2 hour lesson in the afternoon for just $20 more (each)!

    Agree with TJ... open it up to younger kids (ours are 8 and 9) and we would have come with friends in tow...!
