Powder Break - Spring Break off to an Outrageous Start!

It's a sneaky storm - dropping 44" of snow this week. The best of it fell Thursday - when officially we received 13" in the base area. But the top of Star had 21". And the powder runs are amazing. Looking for some SloMo - MoJo? Try Nettie's run, which has a shallower pitch. But the thigh deep untracked powder was so light that you could slowly float down Nettie's. Untracked. Untouched. Just you and the snowflakes. Nice!

Thanks for operating Stadium today, and we love the extra chairs on Star this year!

Meadows: Thanks! The two are related, with Stadium providing such a direct way to get back to Star, the extra chairs helps accommodate the additional guests (especially on epic powder days like Friday!)

I see the ad for the spring pass says it's good through April 28th. Is April 28th the last day of operations for this season?

Meadows: We haven't announced any additional days beyond April 28th at this time. But we are evaluating what kind of limited operations we could offer successfully. We'll have more information on that in the next few weeks. Weather, conditions and turn out all factor into our decision.

    Dear Mount Hood Meadows,

Why can't all lifts stay open until 5:00 PM or 6:00 PM, especially lifts like Cascade Express, Visita Express, Hood River Express, and Shooting Star Express? I understand that it would make the staff work longer but hey we can have 10 hour shifts. Why not? Why not have a Daylight Savings Time schedule where all lifts stay open until 5:00 PM or 6:00 PM. I feel we need to take the extra daylight we get with Daylight Savings Time. Hope you're all doing well.

Meadows: Thanks Harrison. We've considered extending hours, however, most of our guests prefer earlier riding, particularly when spring conditions tend to get warm and soft in the afternoon. Unfortunately there would be too many days of operating lifts past the current 4 PM close for only a handful of people, which just isn't viable. See you on the mountain!
