Three High Speed Quads and Awesome December Powder

As promised we opened up Shooting Star this morning - which delighted (emphasis on the "light" hint hint) crowd that braved the cold temperatures to find their favorite terrain covered in exquisitely light powder. First tracks on Shooting Star - first of the day and the season. Could it get any better?

YES!

Following two days of heroic storm recovery, Cascade Express boarded passengers who were treated to the foot-and-a-half of fresh (in some cases more) deposited by Monday's storm. Sweet goodness - a wellness day on the mountain for sure.

Thanks to Pierce Hodges for the video - it's a playlist so you can see Tuesday's treat as well!

Way to go Meadows crew for getting the mountain open and I am sure the riding is awesome like it was on your opening preview weekend. I can't believe the guy complaining about you opening early, I am guessing he has NEVER skied back East where they open with a lot less snow. Keep up the great work and I hope to be back up there soon.

Meadows: Thanks Steep. I think it was more about hating himself for not getting some of this snow than about us opening. Kudos to our crew - the conditions off of the quads have been awesome! Still watch out for unmarked obstacles - it is early season conditions!

So when will the night operations be open, like what date not time. Thanks.

Meadows: Night ops are scheduled to begin next week. Our normal night schedule is Wednesday through Sunday, but it's depending on the weather, hopefully getting some more snow and what the forecast has for us.

Are you going to have the telemetry back up soon?

Meadows: Unfortunately that is beyond our control. NWAC has reported it to NOAA and we continue to contact them about recognizing our I.P. address to deliver the telemetry. We are beyond the 10 day time frame they say it should take. We'll continue to report it.

Any word on when Vista, Hood River Express, and Stadium will be running?
    Thanks

Meadows: Vista is close although the snowpack is pretty wind scoured and is accessible from Cascade. Stadium can be used as an access lift if needed as we still need some snow to open the Stadium run. We still need more snow to get Hood River Express and the trails it serves running.
