Fifteen Inches of Fresh Powder!

Hello old friend. It's been a while. How you doing? Are you still as much fun as you used to be? Let's dance. Let's tango. Let's slam! Powder made it's triumphant return to Mt. Hood Meadows - and YOU got to play in it. More snow fell on this mountain in the past 24 hours than anywhere in the country. And while this storm may just get silly (with yoyo freezing levels and some winds) it should also provide for another dazzling powder day before it blows through after the weekend. So come on up. Let's dance!

So with this new dumpage, what is the status of HRM? Any chance for the weekend?

Meadows: Depending on how much snow we get Saturday, HRM could be used in a variety of ways: Uplifting only (for uplifting from the HRM parking lot - return by shuttle); create a skiway down, a single lane returning to HRM base for those who uplifted from the HRM lot, or, with enough snow, a more significant opening of terrain resembling normal operations. We will do what ever we can with the snow we receive to use Hood River Expresss this weekend.

How is the lower mountain (HRM) looking? Any idea how much more snow it needs before lift starts running?

Thanks for making the most out of dismal weather so far, looks like its turning around though.

Meadows: Here's to the turn around! And hopefully to the turning of the Hood River Express lift this weekend (only snow will tell)!

It is so nice to see the standard PNW weather hitting Portland and Mt. Hood finally. I just want to say what an incredible job your crew has done this year keeping the trails skiable with so little snow; it will be great to see the ice gone. I was wondering, is there any way of getting HRM opened up this weekend?

Meadows: HRM is definitely the question today! Check the other responses here that I've already replied to. Basically, if we have enough snow (or even close to enough snow) we will make our best effort to make it happen.

I know its going to be a blizzard Sat/Sun, but keep those lifts moving! The rest of us unlucky workers will be invading your resort this weekend! ;)

Stoked Winter fought back against that death ridge.

Meadows: I think it's safe to say that the forces of Mother nature obliterated that ridge and we're enjoying the wintery wrath this weekend! Wowzers!
