    Meadows Film Festival

    Mt. Hood Meadows Film Festival Columbia Sportswear presents the first annual Meadows Film Festival, March 6, from 4 - 6 PM in the Finish Line Pizzeria and Sports Bar.

    It's a friendly competition to celebrate the beauty of our mountain, the talent of those who ski and ride here and the creativity of local film / video makers. The first annual Meadows Film Festival will showcase local talent - on the hill as well as behind the camera. In keeping with the freedom that so represents our sports, we're making no categories - we want your best effort depicting what experiencing this great mountain means to you, to your friends, to your family.

    Entertain us. Make us laugh. Make us cry. Thrill us. Most of all - have fun that's what this sport is all about. And always follow the rules of the Responsibility Code and Smart Style rules. Now - impress us!

    Oregon Cancer Ski Out

    Oregon Cancer Ski Out March 7-8 at Mt. Hood Meadows Ski ResortFive-member teams compete for prizes in a unique and fun two-day ski/snowboard event at Mt. Hood Meadows, raising money for hospice, cancer research, education and prevention programs. You don't need to be an expert to participate. All ages and abilities are invited to join in, as the race is formatted to reward consistency, rather than speed.

    Volunteer celebrity and professional coaches are on hand to coordinate teams and assist skiers with professional race tips and instructions.

    Beneficiaries

    • The OHSU Cancer Institute - at Oregon Health & Science University - researching causes and cures for cancer as a designated National Cancer Institute.
    • Willamette Falls Hospice - providing home care for terminally ill patients and family support. OCSO is funding their "Children in Grief" program.
    • Candlelighters - a grass roots organization whose mission is one of support, education and advocacy for children with cancer and their families.
    • Selected programs - providing cancer education and early detection screenings for the public - especially those in need

    Slopestyle Contest: Presented by Lincoln High School

    Slopestyle contest for freestyle skiers in 8th-12th grade, and for Varsity and JV (little or no contest experience). Must be a registered student. Contest will take place in Rose City Park!

    8-9 AM - Registration
    10 AM - Skier Meeting
    10:30 AM - 2 PM - Slopestyle Contest
    3 PM - Awards
    * Some flexibility required, depending on # of participants.

    USSA 2010 Revolution Tour

    USSA Revolution Tour comes to Mt. Hood Meadows Ski ResortThe U.S. Snowboarding Revolution Tour is a competition that brings together athletes across the region to identify the top juniors in the country. Halfpipe and slopestyle athletes 13 and older (SBX 15 and older) compete together in an open-class style event. Top juniors will be named to U.S. Snowboarding’s Project Gold, a group of the top development athletes in the country who will train together in the summer time and be invited to other select projects. Athletes must have a current National USSA license and FIS license prior to registering for a Revolution Tour contest. USSA or FIS memberships may not be purchased onsite; memberships must be purchased at least two weeks prior to the event. There will be no onsite registration at the event.

    Saturday Freestyle Clinic

    This clinic is designed for those who are looking to improve their freestyle skills in the park, pipe and all over the mountain. Our experience freestyle instructors will work with you on the fundamentals of approach, takeoff, maneuver and landings in order to help you get more comfortable in the park or help you learn and perfect new spins, grabs, etc. This clinic is open to strong intermediate and above skiers & riders and we will divide up groups based on skill level and goals.

    $99 - 9 AM - 4 PM with a one hour break for lunch. Lunch and lift ticket not included. Season Pass holders receive 25% off!

    Steeps Clinic

    Available to advanced and expert skiers and riders. These clinics are designed to improve your ability to ski steep ungroomed terrain. We will work on maintaining rhythm and flow through all terrain and conditions while exploring some of the best known and unknown runs at the resort. Groups will be divided based on skiing / riding ability and desired terrain. This clinic is taught by our most certified and strongest skiing / riding pros.
