Portland Ski Fever and Snowboard Show

The 32nd Annual Portland Ski and Snowboard Show is scheduled for November 4, 5, and 6, at the Portland Expo Center. This year's line-up includes: ski reps with the latest gear, the Northwest's largest ski swap, exciting entertainment, and all of Portland's best major winter sports retailers with endless opportunities to save up to 70% on ski and snowboard gear!

We'll be taking pictures and issuing passes at the Meadows booth. Come stop by!

NW Ski Club Council Ski Fair

This is a smaller, more intimate show (as compared to the Ski Fever & Snowboard Show), but a lot of ski areas and all the local ski clubs will be here. Plus, admission is free! Northwest Ski Club Council ski club members are invited to get their picture taken and pass issued.

Midweek Adult Bus Info and Sign Up Party

Celebrate the start of the season and find out about our midweek adult buses which run from neighborhoods throughout the Portland metro area. This is the traditional sign up party for those who are already planning on riding the buses, but also a great place to find out about this fun, affordable program. Representatives from our snowsports services department will be on hand to talk about adult clinics, equipment, apparel - everything you need to have a great time on the mountain.

Widmer will be sampling a selection of micro-brews, and Hood River's Naked Winery will be on hand to sample wine. Light appetizers and desserts will be available. There'll also be some great prizes given away in a drawing.
We'll also be taking pictures and issuing passes, as a last-minute picture-taking opportunity!

Widmer Brothers Brewing Big Chill '11
Kick off the winter snow season in style at the Big Chill, a celebration of the best of the Northwest presented by Widmer Brothers Brewing. Join Widmer Brothers for an evening of local craft beer -- including Brrr, the brewery’s winter seasonal -- music, art and fashion at Grand Central Restaurant and Bowling Lounge, beginning at 9 PM.
- The night will include music from DEELAY CEELAY, a Portland-based duo that fuses live instrumentation with synched projected visuals blurring the lines between music, experimental film and performance, while creating an awesome and engaging experience for their audiences.
- Check out the latest winter styles in a fashion show produced by Portland’s Jillian Rabe, LLC featuring winter, street and outerwear including lines from: Compound, U.S. Outdoor Store and Antic.
- The silent auction is back this year; this time, benefiting Mountain Wave Search and Rescue! Local artists have been asked to create awesome winter-themed works of art from used snowboards, toboggans, and sleds. Guests at the Big Chill will be asked to vote on their favorite works of art and winning artists will receive prizes like a custom-designed Revolution Snowboard, Mt. Hood Meadows lift tickets, or a weekend getaway to Sunriver Resort. Attendees will also have a chance to get in on the prizes just for voting!
- Snow-junkies can also get their pictures taken at the Big Chill photo booth while warming up with a pint of cold Brrr.
Admission to the Big Chill ’11 is free. Custom Widmer Brothers glassware for the event will be free with the purchase of a Brrr Seasonal Ale for $3.50, while supplies last.

'The Movement' Movie: Fundraiser for Make A Hero Foundation

The Movement, narrated by Robert Redford and Warren Miller, tells the story of five individuals from all walks of life who faced incredible obstacles, found the inspiration to overcome them and became real everyday heroes. Through skiing, each has ultimately discovered or rediscovered the freedom of movement.

The Movement is a fundraiser for the Make A Hero foundation - a nonprofit organization that builds awareness of the need to assist people with disabilities.
