    Full Sail Banked Slalom

Banked Slalom at Mt. Hood Meadows

Mt. Hood Meadows presents the 6th annual Full Sail Banked Slalom, sponsored by Full Sail Brewing on Saturday, April 7th! A banked slalom is a series of high banked curves - the faster a rider goes down the course, the bigger the course becomes because of the nature of the high walls of the banked turns.

Both skiers and snowboarders can participate, filling a field of 120.

Our chapter staff and most importantly, the ALS community, are amazed at the outpouring of support but not surprised by what Honorary Chair, Fred Noble’s, efforts have inspired. We thank our volunteers, our guests, our fundraising participants and our amazing sponsors! We give a huge heartfelt thank you to Fred Noble, and we honor all people who have been affected by ALS who are participating in this event and have done their part to make it record-breaking! Many thanks to Mt. Hood Meadows for this strong partnership in the fight against ALS!

It's time for the 6th annual Sno-Kona Pond Skim at Mt. Hood Meadows, presented by Kona Brewing and All About Hawaii! Snowboarders and skiers, get ready to launch yourself across 90 feet of frigid water, where you can win a free trip for two to Hawaii.

All competitors must be 21 or over. Cost to participate in the Pond Skim is $30 per entrant, which includes a complimentary Kona beach towel and celebratory Kona beer. The event will be ran in REVERSE ORDER of registration (those that register first, skim last). Pre-registration has CLOSED for the event. Day of registration may be open depending on availability, and costs $40. (As of 3:30 PM on Friday, there are 10 spots left.) Ski poles are not allowed in the competition.

    Scoring
All participants will receive one attempt to cross the pond successfully. All participants who successfully skim the length of the pond during the first round qualifiers will advance to the finals, where skimmers can receive a total of 30 points, based on three elements - whether you make it across, your costume, and style/crowd reaction. In the event of ties, the judges will deliberate and award the overall winner.

Participants can receive a maximum of 30 points, and will be judged on the following during the final round:
    • Making it across the 2nd time - 10 points
    • Costume - 10 points (scale of 1-10)
    • Style and Crowd Response - 10 points (scale of 1-10)

Judges will be encouraged to judge costumes on craftsmanship, creativity and time spent putting the costume together. It's not a race to see who can wear the skimpiest costume or shock the crowd.

    Check-In
Competitors must check-in at Mt. Hood Meadows, in the Alpenstube Restaurant lobby area, between 8 AM - 9:30 AM the day of event. Skimming will start at 10:30 AM. Fill out this form in order to speed up the check-in process.

    Prizes
We'll have prizes for the top three places, as well as best costume, best splash, and best impression made by a woman. Let's not forget about the grand prize of a round trip vacation for two to Hawaii!
