Town Challenge

The Town Challenge Series is designed for skiers and snowboarders to have an opportunity to train and race in a Giant Slalom course, on 8 days spread out between 1/25-3/16. The goal of this series is to provide businesses and non business teams the opportunity to enjoy Mt. Hood Meadows Resort in a team-oriented, family friendly, racing environment. Additionally, individuals will have the possibility to train and race in the series.

Cost:
• Individual Complete Series - $175
• Individual Drop In - $25 per race or training session
• Team Complete Series - $875 (allows for 6 participants)
• 12 and under is free with participating parent
• Racer Ticket Pricing will apply for those without passes

Town Challenge on Friday, February 1st consists of a 2-run race from 4-8 PM.

Steeps Clinic

Available to advanced and expert skiers and riders. These clinics are designed to improve your ability to ski steep ungroomed terrain. We will work on maintaining rhythm and flow through all terrain and conditions while exploring some of the best known and unknown runs at the resort. Groups will be divided based on skiing / riding ability and desired terrain. This clinic is taught by our most certified and strongest skiing / riding pros. $99 Per Person. More info here.

For women and taught by our most certified and experienced female instructors. Work on your skiing/riding in a fun supportive environment. Participants will be grouped based on ability and the focus will be on improving your skills so you can ski/ride more confidently and in more conditions. Steeps Midweek Clinic

This clinic is designed for advanced/expert skiers and riders who want to improve their ability to ski/ride on steep terrain and in more difficult snow conditions. Groups will be divided based on ability and terrain preference so you will be skiing/riding with others of similar ability level and pace. Groups sizes will be no more than 7 and our expert coaches will give you individual coaching with the goal of improving your ability to maintain speed, rhythm, flow and control regardless of terrain or snow condition. Coca-Cola Sampling: Honest Tea & Zico Coconut Water

Coca-Cola will be at Mt. Hood Meadows on Wednesday, February 6th to sample Honest Tea and Coconut Water!

Coca-Cola will also have their polar bear mascot as a part of the sampling. Coca-Cola's drive to create a safe haven for polar bears in the high Arctic has thawed the pockets of environmentalists throughout North America, generating over $2 million for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The company partnered with WWF, the world's leading conservation organization, to help meet its goal of raising $10 million to ensure the polar bear's future. Learn more here!

We're excited to have Coca-Cola with us - meet their mascot, sample some Honest Tea and Coconut Water, and learn more about what they're doing for polar bears in the Arctic!

On Tuesday, February 5th, we'll have a Twitter contest for a free day pass and Coca-Cola prize pack. Tell us what you would do to save the polar bear habitat and be entered into a random drawing! See our Twitter page (@mthoodmeadows) for details.

Climb For Clean Air

Climb For Clean Air will be at Mt. Hood Meadows on Saturday, February 9th, to answer questions about the Climb For Clean Air-Reach the Summit program. They’ll offer a $25 discount on the registration fee for anyone who stops by and signs up!

With the Climb for Clean Air-Reach the Summit program, you can scale a mountain and achieve an incredible personal goal! This is an exclusive program designed to give you the training, technical support, and guide services you need to climb to the top of these majestic NW classic mountains: Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams or Mt. Rainier. They'll help you reach the top - even if you have never climbed before. Participants will receive 5 months of training hikes, clinics on mountain safety and climbing techniques, professional guide service and lodging for the climb. You will join novice and experienced climbers while supporting the American Lung Association of the Mountain Pacific. Since its inception, Climb for Clean Air- Reach the Summit has raised over four million dollars for its mission of saving lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease. Mountain Photo Workshop

Want to learn to shoot snow photos like a pro, while spending a fabulous day on the mountain? The photo workshops offered by Grant Myrdal Photography allow this unique opportunity, exclusive to Mt. Hood Meadows. Targeted specifically at snow and mountain shooting, the full day workshops which are scheduled for 1/13, 2/9, 3/10 & 4/13, equip you with the tools to create spectacular photos in all conditions. Full day class, including tuition and take-home summary notes cost will be announced.

Meadows After Dark Rail Jam Series

Due to the success and fun had at last season's Saturday Rail Jam Series, we'll be offering the Saturday Rail Jam Series again! We'll have awesome prizes from our sponsors - Blackstrap, Windell's, USASA, Outer Limits Sports and the High Performance Center. The rail jam will take place in Shipyard from 3 PM - 8 PM.

The Meadows After Dark Rail Jam Series will continue on 3/9.

Helmets are required. No inverted aerials!

Nordic Extravaganza

Come on out Saturday, February 16th for a day full of Nordic festivities! The event kicks off at 9:30 AM with a Sam Cordell Skate Clinic for only $25, and registration opens at 8:30 AM. The best high school teams in the Northwest will be competing in a race that begins at 11 AM! Demo skies will be available, compliments of Rossignol, Fischer and Madshus. When speed is involved, proper waxing can make all the difference. Learn the tricks of the trade from Call “The Wax Meister” Andersen. There will also be a barbecue, and the White Rino marimba band will be performing live.

The Nordic Extravaganza will be a day of fun! Hope to see you there!

Snowbash PDX - NWAC Fundraiser

This is the first annual SnowBash Portland fundraiser, hosted by the Friends of the Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center. This will be an evening of good beer, good friends, gear raffle and live music.

The Friends of the Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center (FOAC) was formed in 1998 as a coalition of individuals and groups working to support the Avalanche Center and to provide public education and awareness about avalanches and avalanche safety. Whether you use ski areas or the back-country as your playground, the work of the Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center (NWAC) is critical to your safety in the mountains.
