2011 Spring Splash @ Mt. Hood MeadowsThe Spring Splash is all about corn snow, warm sunshine and the occasional midwinter-like storm common to this time of the season. It’s a fun and spectacular time on the mountain, ideal for cruising the groomers, hitting the parks and basking in the sun on the deck at the end of the day. Beginning March 19, special events, entertainment, clinics and contests will be presented weekends and holidays.

Meadows Adds Services for Oregon Spring Break March 19 – 27
  • Park & Ride shuttle service will run daily from Portland to the mountain, at reduced rates - $25 for round trip bus, or $69 for bus and lift ticket.
  • The Nordic Center will be open from 9 AM – 4 PM Thursday – Sunday of Spring Break week.
  • Meadows After Dark night operations will be offered Wednesday – Sunday evenings (March 23 – 27).
Win a Trip for Two To Hawaii! Registration begins April 1
There’s also daily registration to win a trip for two to Hawaii beginning April 1 to be given away at the Sno-Kona Pond Skim competition April 30* (must be present to win – one registration / person / day). The trip will include round trip airfare and hotel accommodations for three nights during a low season time frame, a value of up to $1800 (which could be applied to an extended stay or a higher season time frame vacation booked through All About Hawaii Travel).
* The Pond Skim could be moved to May 1 as a weather alternate date, and if this happens the drawing for the Hawaiian trip will be moved to May 1. Must be present to win.

There’s more prizes and surprises at the Spring Splash, presented by KEEN Footwear and Monster Energy Drink, March 19 – April 30 at Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort. Daily operations are scheduled to continue into late April with extended operations on weekends in May based on snow conditions and turn out. The schedule is subject to change – check the conditions page for details.

March 19 – Steeps Clinic

Available to advanced and expert skiers and riders to improve ability to ski steep ungroomed terrain.

March 19 – 21 Mark of Mystery (3 – 6 PM)
Mark is an illusionist, specializing in slight of hand and table magic entertaining and astonishing guests close up.

March 20 – NW Demo Tour
Free demo from dozens of ski and snowboard manufacturers. 18 and older with a credit card and ID to demo (minors must also have parent or legal guardian present).

March 20 – Grand Masters Clinic

Designed for intermediate or above “seniors,” and coached by certified senior specialists instructing modern, efficient technique to get the most of the day and extend your days and seasons on the hill.

March 21 – 23 – 3-Day Holiday Kids Camps / Freestyle Camps
Camps offer specialized instruction for kids of similar abilities who team up with a coach for all three days.

March 23 and 24 – Mercy Corps Japan Disaster Fundraising Nights
Special $15 3 – 9 PM lift ticket, $5 of which is donated to Mercy Corps to help aid the victims of the earth quake and tsunami. Purchase online in advance for $10, and $5 still goes to Mercy Corps.

March 23 – 27 – Last week of night operations
Lifts operate until 9 PM each evening in the final week of night skiing. Day operations continue daily through late April, and possibly on weekends after that!

March 25 – Friday Night Rail Jam Final
Fun and music, plenty of prizes and swag in this free competition for all levels of freestylers, presented at the Shipyard Park from 6 – 8 PM.

March 26 – Spring Beer Fest
Enjoy flavorful Microbrews from Full Sail, Double Mountain, Widmer, Kona, Red Hook and Lompoc breweries, on the deck and in the sun!

March 26 – Grominator Rail Jam
Freestyle event for younger riders and skiers at Shipyard.

March 26 – 27 Garcia Birthday Band (12:30 – 4 PM on the Paradise Sun Deck)

April 2 – Mountain Photo Workshop
Photographer Grant Myrdal conducts an exclusive workshop to equip you with the tools to create spectacular photos in all conditions.

April 4 – 6  – 3-Day Holiday Kids Camps / Freestyle Camps

April 9 – Full Sail Banked Slalom
Fun yet challenging banked slalom course with prize money for the open and senior divisions, plus youth divisions for both skiers and snowboarders.

April 23 – Mazot Fest
Fun race set mid-mountain to raise money for the Avy Dog program, presented by Double Mountain Brewing.

April 30 – Sno-Kona Pond Skim
5th Annual event presented by Kona Brewing and All About Hawaii Travel. Best judged skimmer wins a trip for two to Hawaii!
