Transportation

Looking for an alternative way to get to the ski resort other than your own vehicle? During the season an average of more than 100 buses travel to the mountain from Portland each week. Meadows has an extensive network of advisors who organize bus transportation to the mountain weekends, as well as midweek (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays). You might consider car pooling – made easy through our partnership with Carpool Match Northwest. Or you can charter a shuttle for yourself, a small group of friends or let us arrange a luxury motorcoach for your club or business outing at Meadows.

Opening weekend - January 1968. Mt. Hood Meadows wasn't even officially open yet - and there was a bus in the parking lot. Meadows has been an inovator and advocate of public transportation since the beginning. Much of the resort's success is tied to the weekend bus programs provided for students and their parents.

Meadows continues to offer weekend and midweek bus programs throughout the season. Programs are offered in January and February which allow you to package together consecutive weeks of lift tickets, lessons and rentals with transportation. It is a convenient and affordable way to enjoy the mountain.

Want to sample our transportation programs? Then join a Season Opener - offered in December!

Get On the Bus for Season Openers from your neighborhood in December - Bus ride & lift ticket for $50!

Oregon Sno-Park Permit Meadows' parking lots require a Sno-Park permit ($4 for the day or $22 for the season) which can be purchased at the resort.
You must have a valid Sno-Park permit displayed in the windshield of your vehicle if you park in designated winter recreation parking areas (Sno-Parks) between November 15 and April 30.
Sno-Parks are located in all mountain passes of the state and in most recognized ski, snowmobile, and snow play areas. (Map of Oregon Sno-Parks).
Permits are sold at all DMV offices and by permit agents in resorts, sporting goods stores, and other retail outlets. Agents are allowed to charge a service fee for each permit they sell.
Permits are transferable from vehicle to vehicle.
Sno-Park permits issued by Washington, California and Idaho are honored in Oregon and Oregon permits are honored in those states. (However, if your vehicle has Washington plates, you must have a Washington permit to park in a winter recreation area in Washington.)
The penalty for parking in a designated area without a permit may result in a fine of $30.
