How to get here:
The best way to get here from Portland is to take one of our Park & Ride buses. If you plan on driving, get directions here. You should expect about 1.5-2 hours of driving time from Portland, and should plan for an 8:30 AM arrival on weekends and holidays, and a 9 AM arrival on weekdays, in order to make the first group lesson of the day.
What to wear:
Waterproof pants, jacket, and gloves. A hat that covers your ears, and goggles as well (sunglasses are OK on sunny days). Sunscreen is recommended every day. Dressing in layers is always a good idea so you can adjust your temperature.
What to expect:
In your first two hour lesson, you should expect to spend about 30 minutes getting introduced to your equipment, sliding around on flat terrain, learning to walk up hill, and how to get up from a fall. You will then spend the next 45 minutes learning to turn at least one direction and stop. After you have practiced these skills, the group will head to the Buttercup Chairlift to continue working on turning and stopping for the rest of the lesson. Our goal for your first lesson is to get you skiing/riding the Buttercup Chair on your own!
4 Time Learn to Ski or Snowboard $160 Special
Meadows has several one time and three time learn to ski or snowboard packages which you can see below. But the 4 time $160 offer is a great way to advance from never ever to beyond beginner at this amazing price. It's for ages 13 and older and is offered through our weekend and midweek consecutive week programs.
Each day you'll receive your lift ticket, equipment rentals for the day and a 2 hour group lesson. The first two days the lift ticket allows access to our Fun Zone Ballroom Carpet and Wondercarpet conveyer lifts, as well as the Buttercup beginner chair. Days 3 and 4 an all mountain lift is included in the package.
The consecutive week format allows you optimal progression - as you are taking these four lessons within a four week time frame to make sure you are building on skills, not forgetting them between visits. By the 4th week you should be beyond the beginner trails and well on your way to the intermediate blue and perhaps even some of the more challenging terrain Meadows offers.

High School & Weekend Adult Programs
Midweek Adult Programs
The registration deadline for the and for the February sessions is February 5, but you'll save $50 if you register online by January 31. Price increases to $210 after February 1.
