The National Ski Areas Association has designated January 13 – 19, 2007 as National Ski Area Safety Week. The event promotes on-hill practices and etiquette designed to make the slopes safer for skiers and snowboarders. Essential to courteous and safe sharing of the mountain is the Responsibility Code – seven rules which if followed provide an extra margin of safety on the slopes.

- Safety coloring contest for kids
- Helmet (and other safety equipment) Tent - To demonstrate how to select the right size helmet for the appropriate fit and to better understand the benefits of wearing a helmet.
- Meadows pro patrol and National Ski Patrol members will be on hand to answer questions
- “Peep-a-boo” search contest will be staged, allowing guests to search and probe for a buried “peep” or electronic beacon.
