INSTRUCTOR (Alpine, Snowboard, Telemark)
Department: Ski & Snowboard School
Reports To: Ski & Snowboard School Supervisor
Wage Range: DOE
Shift: Part-time & Full-time, see department for details
POSITION OVERVIEW
Primary responsibility is to teach groups and individuals of all ages and abilities
Qualificiations
- Successful completion of Mt. Hood Meadows instructor training course or PSIA/AASI certification
- Experience teaching or leading groups in some capacity
- Strong communication skills
- Strong Guest service skills
- Ability to work independently
- Desire to work outdoors in all conditions
- Must provide own equipment (Skis/board/boots/goggles/gloves/etc)
- Track record of responsibility and timeliness
- Desire to improve skiing/riding and teaching skills through in-house or PSIA/AASI clinics
Job Functions & Responsibilities
- Uphold and Promote MHM Mission, Vision, and Goals
- Execute departmental goals & tactics which support the company goals.
- Teach groups and individuals of all ages and abilities
- Maintain a safe and fun learning environment for students
- Help with morning setup and tear down of Ski School equipment
- Greet guests and help them find the correct group at lineups
- Attend clinics regularly to improve skiing/riding and teaching skills
- Display friendliness and professionalism at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
FUNZONE OPERATOR (Kid’s ski area with Surface lifts)
Department: Ski & Snowboard School
Reports To: Fun Zone Supervisor/Fun Zone Lead
Wage Range: DOE
Shift: Full time and Part time. Daily (8:15am – 4:15pm) Wed – Sun (3:00pm – close)
POSITION OVERVIEW
Operate base area surface lifts (rope tow, pony tow, magic carpet) in a safe manner.
Qualificiations
- Minimum age of 18 years old at time of hire.
- Desire to work outdoors in all conditions.
- Strong Guest service Skills.
- Track record of responsibility and timeliness.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Job Functions & Responsibilities
- Operate base area surface lifts (rope tow, pony tow, magic carpet) in a safe manner.
- Set up and tear down of Fun Zone and base area Ski School equipment.
- Help guests learn to use equipment properly.
- Complete Fun Zone log book daily.
- Display friendliness and professionalism at all times.
- This position is approximately 95% outdoors and 5% indoors.

- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Execute departmental goals & tactics which support the company goals.
