General Comments: None of us wanted it to happen, but it's finally arrived: The end of the 2012-2013 ski season is here. We're closed until flurries fly again this fall. Missing snow sports already? There's great backcountry terrain around here, so we’d like to discourage you from hiking and riding within the Meadows permit area, but we'll allow it. No sledding, sorry. We'll have maintenance equipment out on the slopes, and maintenance work will result in snow piles, ungroomed tracks, and trenches in the snow, so please be aware. If you are up here riding, you’re on your own. There are no patrollers or any other staff to assist you. There will be no avalanche mitigation efforts from now on, so avalanche danger and other hazards may exist throughout the permit area. As the snow melts, there will be unexpected, unmarked, and invisible hazards. Make sure you have backcountry knowledge and practice backcountry safety. All that said, have a wonderful summer. We'll miss you! See you next season!
