Mt. Hood Meadows Safety Awareness Program

The awesome terrain, bountiful snow and natural beauty of Mt. Hood Meadows attracts a variety of winter enthusiasts who share a passion for the sports of skiing and snowboarding. We strive to make your experience enjoyable, but please remember that you are responsible for your own actions.

Regardless of how you decide to enjoy the slopes, always show courtesy to others and be aware that there are elements of risk in skiing and riding that common sense and personal awareness can help reduce. Please ski and ride safely, and abide by Your Responsibility Code. Within the park we encourage all guests to ride SmartStyle.

It is advised that all guests learn more about mountain safety before they head out to the wilderness. In all mountain snow sports, there is the potential for accidents. The hidden dangers of tree wells pose a threat to snowboarders and skiers alike. Although it is rare, avalanches can and do occure. For this reason it is especially important never to ride Out of Bounds.
