MT. HOOD, OR (Immediate Release) – Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort has declared Tuesday, January 13 "Oregon Ducks Pride Day" in recognition of their monumental season. Resort spokesman Dave Tragethon says Meadows is proud of the University of Oregon football program, saying, "Their appearance in this first ever College Football National Championship Game is an outstanding accomplishment that should bring pride to all Oregonians. Regardless of the outcome of Monday's game, we want to celebrate their season."
The lift ticket price for Ducks Fans Tuesday will be determined by the Duck's offensive output in the National Championship Game. A dollar for every point the Ducks score (offensively, defensively or special teams - yes field goals count) will be subtracted from the normal lift ticket price of $74. To get the special Duck Pride lift ticket price, guests must proudly wear their Oregon Ducks colors, preferably a jersey of a favorite player, but most definitely Oregon Green and Yellow. Meadows will also have some dining and beverage specials in the restaurants to celebrate the Ducks season.
Tragethon acknowledges Ducks Fans could be skiing for FREE Tuesday, saying, "As prolific as this offense has been, and with the fast-paced tempo dictated by the Ducks, we could easily see them blow up the score board. We hope they score 10 touchdowns and that The Duck has to do over 500 push ups Monday. But regardless of the outcome, we're very proud of this team and what they've accomplished." Tragethon notes the 59 points Oregon scored against Florida State last week would have resulted in a $15 lift ticket.
Our culinary team will be serving up specials both Monday and Tuesday. The "Oregon Bratwurst" Olympic Provisions sausage special served on a bed of yellow and green (rice and veggies). They'll be making soup of the Buckeyes, and the bar will be serving up Duck Calls and Duck Farts. What's in a Duck Call? And how do you make a Duck Fart? Guess you'll have to come up to find out!
