Meadows to Work With SPT to Build Expansive Spring Park in High Elevation Cascade Terrain

Categories: Guest Connection Meadows Parks Media Center

The Vista Spring Park at Meadows built in collaboration with SPT was a huge success!MT. HOOD, Ore. – March 15, 2015 – Mt. Hood Meadows has teamed up with renowned terrain park builders, Snow Park Technologies (SPT) to create a new Spring Park. Scheduled to open for Oregon spring break starting March 21, the Spring Park at Mt. Hood Meadows will offer a variety of jumps, rails and features serviced by the Cascade Express, the resort’s highest elevation chairlift.

The Cascade Spring Park will be designed with great flow, variety and overall length that made last season's Spring Park (pictured above) so popular.

“This terrain is well known by park riders going back to the days of the Cascade Super Parks,” said Tom Scully, Meadows’ Director of Mountain Operations. “It will share a lot of the character and fun of last year’s Vista Spring Park, but going to Cascade gives us more variety, flow and greater snow coverage. We are excited about taking our Spring Park offering to the next level, teaming up with SPT to provide the creativity, unrivaled design and flow they are known for.”

SPT, the world’s leading consulting team for special projects on snow, will work hand in glove with the Mt. Hood Meadows terrain park crew on the design and build of the Spring Park. Designed to offer terrain park users access to one of the longest flow parks on the West Coast, Spring Park will include jumps, rails and a mix of small, medium and large features geared toward all levels of park riders.

“We’re excited to work with Mt. Hood Meadows to bring back Spring Park and give skiers and riders a progressive new park to finish out the season,” said Chris “Gunny” Gunnarson, owner and president of SPT. “Spring Park was incredibly successful last year, and,our team is already brainstorming all of the possibilities that could exist in the Cascade terrain. Our goal is to design and build a creative terrain park that gives users unlimited options and the ability to session unique combinations of features every single time.”
