A budding April storm has dropped more than ten inches of light snow at Mt. Hood Meadows, delighting powder hounds. It’s the finest kind, and enthusiasts received a bonus treat as Cascade Express - the resort’s highest lift, was opened for the first time since the storm blew in. Fresh tracks with refills were served up in the morning, with cloud breaks and the storm offering a sunny reprieve by midday.

We are stoked about the changing weather pattern, which will bring more snow this weekend, and heavier amounts at the beginning of next week. Meadows intends to operate on its original schedule – daily through April 12 and then weekends, if weather and conditions allow. We are hopeful that this change back to winter weather will bring some snow fall so we can continue operations.
This weekend events are huge with two of the most popular events of the season being presented.
Saturday - Double Mountain Deck Party April 4
A free concert on the deck and Avalanche Dog Fundraiser. Meadows BBQ will be cooking with Double Mountain brew to go with it. Enjoy live music by the Greenneck Daredevils, Viasol, Kitchen Table and Scott Pemberton.
Raffle for Mt. Hood Meadows Avalanche Dogs sponsored by Dakine, Double Mountain Brewery, Anon, Never Summer, and Ice Breaker.
A special $59 online ticket includes a $20 gift card to use at Double Mountain Brewing in Hood River.
Sunday - 9th Annual Full Sail Banked Slalom April 5
A field of 120 recreational snowboarders and skiers take on a banked slalom course - a series of banked turns. The faster a rider goes, the bigger the course becomes due to the nature of the course’s high walls. There is a cash prize purse to be split among the open and masters division winners (based on full fields) and gift cards for the junior divisions. Helmets are required for competition.
