- Local singers will perform acoustically every Sunday in August
MT. HOOD, OR (Immediate Release) – This summer visitors to Mt. Hood Meadows will be treated to some of the best local talent performing acoustically in the Sunday Summer Concert Series. The series will be presented every Sunday from 1 - 3 PM at the Paradise Sun Deck outdoor concert venue. There is no charge for the entertainment and the Sun Deck will be serving up BBQ and refreshments for those that would like to dine while listening and soaking in the magnificent view of Mt. Hood.
August 2: Jen Winklepleck
Meadows’ very own Vertical bartender will be showcasing her amazing voice, featuring bluegrass and rock songs.
August 9: Tim Snider
A Portland local, Tim Snider brings us World-Folk hybrid aimed at the heart, the brain and the feet.
August 16: Jon Davidson
A Portland local, Jon Davidson's music is engaging acoustic alt/pop with heart.
August 23: The Fenderbenders
Les Vaughn and Ted Matzen make up the Fenderbender duo. Their show will be a rare performance featuring a wide variety of original love songs, country music, and Johnny Cash & Elvis Presley covers.
August 30: Redwood Son
Now a veteran of the regional Pacific Northwest music scene, Redwood Son was named best new artist at the 2011 Portland Music Awards. Redwood Son fuses vintage tones with contemporary styling. His songs promise to bring a more mature approach to the same timeless folk tunes.
In addition to the Sunday entertainment, the resort will offer scenic chairlift rides weekends in August from 11 - 3 PM, for uphill sight seeing and connecting to hiking trails on Mt. Hood. Saturdays are also filled with events.
