MT. HOOD, OR (Immediate Release) – Events abound at Meadows in December, leading up to the holidays brimming with fun events and activities. The medley of events range from rail jams and holiday camps to breakfast with Santa and New Year’s Eve celebration with fireworks. It all leads up to the return of the Burton Mountain Festival at Meadows.
Celebrate the season with some of the Northwest’s best tasting microbrews from a dozen breweries. Live Music by Viasol from 1-5 PM!

Dec. 20: Winter Demo Day
Over a dozen ski and snowboard companies will Demo equipment for FREE (lift ticket not included). Hit the slopes for a few runs and test out some new gear at Meadows! Registration begins Saturday at the High Performance Center, then Sunday morning at the Demo on a first com first to demo basis. Valid credit card or debit card and photo ID (Meadows Season Pass accepted) are required. A parent or guardian’s signature is required for participants 18 years and younger. Boot demos will not be available so make sure to bring your own.
Dec. 21-23 AND Dec. 28-30 3 Day Holiday Camps
- Kids Camps (ages 6 - 12)
Designed for youth from ages 4 - 12, we team up the kids with others their same age and ability with four hours of on the snow instruction from a certified pro each day. Supervision is provided all day and lunch is included. Make reservations online or @ 503.337.2222 x1419.
- Freestyle Camps (ages 7 - 14)
Participants will challenge and grow their skills both in the park and all over the mountain. The Freestyle Camp is open to participants ages 7 to 14 who are at minimum intermediate level skiers. - Adult Camps

Acoustic blues with a contemporary edge. Terry Robb is considered one of the top acoustic blues guitarists on the West Coast.
This course targets the unaware backcountry traveler, and introduces the recognition of avalanche danger and how to reduce the risk. Presented in classroom you’ll learn to access local avalanche bulletins and weather reports, recognize basic signs of avalanche danger and how to avoid avalanche danger. This free course is a must for anyone considering going into the backcountry the first time.
Dec. 28-30: 3 Day Holiday Camps (see Dec. 21-23 above)
A spectacular evening with lifts running until midnight, a fireworks show at 10:15 and a scrumptious dinner buffet. Party with Dance Machine (21 and older) at a Masquerade themed party from 9 until midnight.
The Burton Demo Tour returns to Meadows with free Burton demo gear to try out. Credit card and ID required. Parent or guardian’s signature is required for participants 18 years and younger.
The Riglet Park is open to kids 6 and younger to introduce them to snowboarding and the fun of sliding sideways and doing tricks in their very own custom (small feature) terrain park.
