Short Track Weekend Mountain Bike Event at Cooper Spur Mt. ResortMt. Hood, OR - (Immediate Release) - Cooper Spur Mt. Resort presents the first annual Short Track Weekend Mountain Bike event July 15 - 17 at the property, located on the north side of Mt. Hood. The event kicks off Friday evening with a family fun race at 6 PM, to give families a chance to mountain bike together, get used to the course and prep for Saturday and Sunday’s featured events.

Last fall the National Forest Foundation (NFF) awarded funds from the Ski Conservation Fund to the 44 Trails Association for work in the Mt. Hood National Forest. Guests at lodging properties including Cooper Spur Mt. Resort voluntarily contribute to the NFF Ski Conservation Fund, so it is satisfying to see the funds put to work so close to home.

Mount Hood Cooper Spur Land Exchange Clarification Act Passes House in Near Unanimous Vote

Representatives Walden and Blumenauer testify at hearing on the Mt. Hood Cooper Spur Land Exchange billJune 8, 2016 WASHINGTON, DC— A bill authored by U.S. Reps. Greg Walden (R-Hood River) and Earl Blumenauer (D-Portland) requiring the U.S. Forest Service to complete a land exchange on Mt. Hood has passed the U.S. House in an overwhelmingly bipartisan vote, 401-2. The Mount Hood Cooper Spur Land Exchange Clarification Act (H.R. 3826) directs the Forest Service to move forward with the underlying land exchange—first approved by Congress in 2009— which would help protect the local water source and grow jobs in the community.
