MT. HOOD, OREGON (Immediately) – Mt. Hood Meadows is part of the most anticipated traveling snowboard event series of the year: the 2015 Burton Mountain Festival Presented by MINI, an eight-stop, on-snow community snowboarding festival for riders of all ages, and the 2nd Annual Party In Your Park snowboard contest series, a 17-stop, grassroots tour celebrating the fun in contest snowboarding. The event series stop will be January 2 - 4 with the Party In Your Park contest on Saturday, January 3. All events are completely free and open to the public.

First up is the Burton Mountain Festival. As a community event from a community of snowboarders, the 2015 Burton Mountain Festival is the most extensive, interactive snowboard demo experience in North America and features programs and activities for friends, family and riders to enjoy. The Meadows stop, which will be set up in Main Base Area, will feature the 2015 Burton demo fleet, which gives riders the chance to try out Burton’s latest 2015 boards, boots and bindings all for FREE (I.D. and liability release required - those under 18 need parent present to sign release).

Burton Super Stars Kelly Clark and Kimmy Fasani highlight new Burton Girls Ride Day

New this year, the 2015 Burton Girls Ride Day series will take place at select stops along the Burton Mountain Festival tour, offering exciting women’s-specific programming, product demos and events from Burton Girls. Look for a girls-only, luxury on-snow Burton Girls tent with dedicated female staff on-hand to help riders choose the best new women’s gear to try from Burton. And on Saturday, January 3 from 10:30 am – 5 pm, meet up at the Burton Girls tent for complimentary breakfast, check out a women’s hardgoods demo, take laps with fellow female riders and Burton Girls, enjoy a special Burton Team appearance by Olympic Gold Medalist Kelly Clark and super star Kimmy Fasani, and après the afternoon away. Free Riglet Parks for 6 and under
Next up, kids as young as three will have the chance to try snowboarding in the FREE Riglet Park, located in the main base area. The innovative Riglet program gives little ones a fun introduction to snowboarding in a learning park built specifically for them. To make learning even easier, Burton will provide FREE snowboards, boots and bindings for the smallest kids to borrow. Certified snowboard coaches will also be on hand to help kids learn to ride on mini features like boxes, ramps and rails at no cost.

The good times don’t end there. The Meadows Burton Mountain Festival stop will also feature a special guest appearance by Burton Team riders, après entertainment with music and fun activities to cap off a great day of riding. The festival will also have an amazing sponsor village with FREE activities and fun giveaways from our event partners. Head to the MINI, Paul Mitchell and Garmin tents to get in on all the action, including a chance to try the Garmin VIRB – the HD action camera with the ability to record data such as speed, altitude and GPS position.

Party in Your Park at Shipyard Saturday
And to top it all off, one of the most exciting parts of the Burton Mountain Festival is the 2015 Party In Your Park contest series held all around the country starting this winter. Unlike any other event series in snowboarding, Party in Your Park allows each participating resort to create its own unique course for riders. From urban to organic, the Party in Your Park courses stay true to the personality of each individual host resort.

It’s easy for riders to compete at Party In Your Park – there’s no registration fee and snowboarders can simply show up and drop in. Shipyard - Meadows urban rail park - will be the site of Party in the Park Saturday, January 3.

Riders in each local contest will be added to one of three teams who work together during the event. Members of the winning team will walk away with a great prize, and the best riders at each contest will be invited to compete in the West Coast and East Coast finals taking place during the Brighton and Seven Springs events. To sweeten the deal, the top ranking riders at the West Coast and East Coast finals may earn a chance to compete on the coveted global stage at next year’s Burton Rail Days event in Tokyo, Japan.
