Mt. Hood Meadows will open for the season Monday. The resort has two lifts - Buttercup and Easy Rider - scheduled from 9 AM - 4 PM. The resort has an 18 inch base and thanks to lowering freezing levels, is receiving snow rather than the rain that was initially forecast. Snow harvesting will begin to supplement the base area snowpack and build the ramps for the two lifts scheduled, as well as an 8 feature jib park for freestyling, and the Ballroom Carpet beginner’s conveyer.
The lift ticket will be $49 for adults, $39 for kids ages 7 - 14 and $10 for ages 6 and under. A beginner lift ticket for those learning the sport accessing the Ballroom Carpet conveyer and Buttercup is $39. Those wanting to only use the 8 feature jib park can pay $10 park access fee (no lift included).

Resort spokesman Dave Tragethon is excited about the Monday opening, saying, “We’re eager to welcome our staff back to work and open up more terrain for our guests who have been waiting patiently. We will continue to evaluate mountain conditions in hopes of opening more lifts and terrain this week. It feels good to get open for the season.”
The terrain offered Monday fully accommodates those learning to ski and snowboard. With the holiday break, Meadows ski and snowboard school is fully operational, offering children and adult lessons and taking Day Care reservations. Meadows equipment rental center and two sports shops will be open. Culinary services will have the Schuss Grill, Higher Grounds and Alpenstube Bar operating for breakfast and lunch and Apres Ski.
