While the beautiful sunny days here on the mountain may not bless us with the snow we need, they do bring about the outdoor dining option of “this year’s model” of The Paradise BBQ. And “this year’s model” means a remodeled, larger, and better equipped mobile BBQ station. What could be better than sitting in the sunshine in-between runs with a cold fresh tap beer in your hand and a steaming and heavenly smelling plate of BBQ in front of you?
Yes, yes, yes we are still serving our secret recipe pulled pork (in either a sandwich or a bowl) and that delicious smoky beef brisket. BUT this year we have added the best Bratwurst we have tasted, straight from Portland’s own Olympic Provisions. We grill it and put it on a toasted bun with roasted peppers and onions and it is a WINNER!
As if those weren’t enough to put your taste buds in a frenzy, this year we are also cooking up a BBQ’d rendition of Chef Dave’s Legendary Meatloaf. It comes off the grill and on a bun and is topped with BBQ sauce and roasted peppers and onions. Whew!! And we’ve gone the jungle route with our super-tender slow cooked chicken legs. They are topped with Salsa de la Jungla, a tropical BBQ sauce based on mango and spiked with chiles and ginger. You can’t get this anywhere but at the Paradise BBQ and all we’ll ask you is, “One leg or two?”
All of our tasty ‘Q comes with great sides like jalapeno slaw, roasted potatoes, and those great roasted peppers and onions. We’ll also round out your meal with chips, cookies and icy cold sodas. Best of all, we’ll even point you in the direction of the beer taps so you can wash it all down with an Oregon craft beer.
So no, the sunshine won’t bring us any fresh powder, but when the sun is out, look for the Paradise BBQ wagon and treat yourself to the perfect outdoor mountain meal. Open when the sun is out most weekend days at 11am.
