  • Winter storm drops 3 inches of new snow
  • Forecast says up to a foot could fall by Tuesday

MT. HOOD, OR (Immediate Release) – It's snowing hard at Mt. Hood Meadows - the resort has picked up 3 inches in the base area, much more higher up on the mountain. The forecast says a foot or more could fall through Tuesday.

Resort officials are delighted, saying timing of the snow is perfect for the upcoming President's Holiday Weekend. Resort spokesman Dave Tragethon says, "We've been making the most of the snow we had received, but this storm promises to deliver enough snow to really help us out for the holiday. This will help fortify our snowpack, and give us good coverage especially on the upper mountain. We expect a great turnout this week for the freshies, and then this weekend when we should have sunshine to greet families and beginners here for the holiday."

Meadows continues it's normal seven day a week operation - 9 AM - 4 PM Mondays and Tuesdays, 9 AM - 9 PM Wednesday - Sunday.
