- Scott Dewitt sets pace with a time of 11:31
- Amanda Sandau best women's time of 13:30
The 2nd Annual Uphill Challenge was run at Mt. Hood Meadows today, with 55 competitors of all ages taking on the 1.2 mile 621 foot climb. Last year's fastest times for men and women held, as smoke from distant fires added to the challenge.
Scott Dewitt had the fastest time at 11:31, but that was 40 seconds off of last year's course record of 10:49 set by Bernard Seeger. Amanda Sandau had the fastest women's time at 13:30, just 14 seconds off of last year's record. Both Dewitt and Sandau collected $120 for their first place finishes, and all age category winners received custom wood trophies.
