PORTLAND, OR (Immediate Release) - Altitude - a mountain lifestyle apparel and accessories store, will open September 3 in Portland's NW Pearl District. The store will feature unique, fashionable and sporty clothing perfect for working out or wearing out.
The store is located at 1202 NW 17th avenue - on Northrup. Owned by Mt. Hood Meadows, Altitude will be a gateway to Mt. Hood living the mountain lifestyle. Meadows Vice President of Resort Operations Jeremy Riss says Altitude should not be confused with being a ski or snowboard shop. "Altitude will carry lines of apparel and accessories that you will wear and use every day, not just on your trips to the mountain. It will serve as a connection to Mt. Hood and the great outdoors lifestyle we all love with the ability to pre-purchase Meadows lift tickets and other products at a discount as well as getting all your questions answered before your next trip."
Retail Director Bridgette Shipley, newly arrived from the Tahoe area where she was Vail's Western Regional Merchandise Manager, is excited about this new venture. "Altitude will be a place that our guests will find beautiful clothing and unique gifts that they will not find at other stores. It's a place that you can have a glass of wine or a microbrew while shopping and enjoy the stories and information we have to share."
Activity is built into the store's DNA. Repurposed wood from the grandstands of La Salle High School's gymnasium was used to build the merchandise tables and displays. Chairs from Meadows' Daisy chairlift have been refurbished to provide seating. Photos of the mountain will be displayed throughout the store. There's even a piece of the PDX airport carpet to honor the traveling spirit of those visiting the store.
Altitude has also applied for an OLCC permit to serve beer and wine to enhance the shopping experience, creating a fun, social atmosphere while planning the next great outing.
Altitude will be open from 11 AM to 7 PM daily and until 8 PM Fridays and Saturdays, making it convenient for those wanting to purchase Meadows season passes, lift tickets, lesson packages, get fitted for rental equipment and pick up Meadows custom logowear.
