Great Turn Out for our Preview Day

Categories: Inside Meadows Guest Connection Weather Blog

More than 500 snow enthusiasts took advantage of an early opening of the Buttercup lift Saturday, a special preview day Meadows presented as part of the Pray for Snow Party. The preview was made possible by the enormous snow harvesting efforts Meadows has pioneered, making it possible to offer a limited experience with just ten inches of snow depth in the base area.

Those sliding Saturday beamed with early season enthusiasm - making the most of their winter with an early season opportunity to share time with friends and family on the side of a mountain. The weather was spectacular - blue skies and Hood dressed in the snow that fell earlier this week shone brightly.

Parks crew put on the Pray for Snow rail jam adjacent to the parking lot, that set a great vibe for the entire day both for the 90 jibbers who jammed for five hours and the spectators appreciating their efforts.

With temperatures plummeting and snow forecast for early this week, Meadows continues snow making and harvesting efforts with plans to operate multiple lifts during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, depending on how much snow falls. Pray for snow and keep doing those snow dances!
