
Another winter storm is dropping snow on Mt. Hood in time for the MLK winter holiday. Mt. Hood Meadows has a snow depth of seven feet in the base area (double the depth this time last season) and nearly twelve feet at mid-mountain. With such great coverage the ski area will be operating all lifts with the entire mountain open (weather permitting) from 9 AM - 9 PM each day. Meadows is ready for a great holiday!
Winterhawks Weekend Receive FREE Portland Winterhawks Tickets - January 15 - 17
Hockey fans are going to want to hit the slopes for Portland Winterhawks weekend at Mt. Hood Meadows. Every passholder and ticket purchaser skiing or riding at Meadows this Friday, Saturday and Sunday (January 15 - 17) will receive a voucher good for free admission to one of four designated games:
Monday, January 18, 2016- 3PM vs. Vancouver Giants
Sunday, January 24, 2016- 5PM vs. Tri-City Americans
Monday, February 15, 2015- 3PM vs. Victoria Royals
Sunday, March 13, 2016- 5PM vs. Everett Silvertips
The vouchers will be handed out at Meadows points of sales to ticket purchasers or those exchanging pre-purchased lift tickets and packages.
Meadows Nordic Center will present the Nordic Extravaganza Saturday, featuring free Rossignol demo skis (bring your own boots), a yoga session, a skate clinic, live music by the Green Neck Daredevils and free hot dogs and grilled eggplant burgers!
Otto's Ski Shop and Oregon Mountain Community will be in attendance showcasing new products and answering equipment and industry questions.

Registration at 9 AM ($25 registration fee) - clinic runs from 9:30 - 11:30 AM on a first come first in basis. Arrive early Saturday for the Extravaganza!
Rail Jam in Shipyard - January 16 3 - 8 PM
ReRack presents the second in a series of Rail Jams at Meadows Saturday. Registration is free for all freestylers (lift ticket or pass required) the event is held in the Shipyard rail park.
With all the snow we’re receiving this season the back country has never been more appealing. This free course introduces and explains to the unaware backcountry traveler where and why avalanches occur, describe who gets caught and why and provides a basic approach to staying safe in the backcountry. This is a major fundraiser for the Hood River Rotary Club Scholarship Program. Normally, lifts operate on Mondays until only 4 PM. Rotary rents the mountain extending lift operations to 9 PM and charging just $15 for a 2 - 9 PM lift ticket.
Because this is a special fundraiser, this special lift ticket is required to ride the lift after the normal 4 PM closing time, even for Meadows season passholders.

Park and Ride Weekend and Holiday Shuttle - January 16 - 18
Meadows popular Park and Ride will run Saturday, Sunday and MLK Monday, offering round trip shuttling from three Portland locations to the mountain. Lift ticket and bus ride is just $79 for adults ($59 for juniors and seniors). A special learn to ski or snowboard package with bus ride is just $79 (ages 13 and older) and a round trip bus only cost is $25.
