The 28th Annual Oregon Cancer Ski Out will be presented at Meadows March 13 and 14. The two-day event for skiers and snowboarders combines fun and a unique team competition to raise funds to fight cancer.
Teams of five compete for prizes in a two-day race at Meadows. The race rewards consistency and teamwork rather than individual speed. There are other social events lie the Cowboy up for Cancer dinner and casing night held in Hood River Sunday evening. More than 400 people take part in the Ski Out each year.
Funds are raised through corporate sponsorships, team entry fees and Bucks to Buck Cancer. Right now customers at our food outlets can make an additional donation of a buck or two that all goes to empower people in the fight against cancer. Beneficiaries include the Knight Cancer Institute, Candlelighters for Children with Cancer, Providence Hospice and Providence Hospice of the Gorge, Camp Erin and Breast Friends.
There’s still time to sign up and participate in this event that has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars towards the fight against cancer.
