MT. HOOD, Ore. – Mar. 30, 2016 – Significant snowfall and base depths of 10 to 20 feet are propelling Mt. Hood Meadows into an extended Spring season scheduled to go through mid-May, and have allowed the resort to return its annual Spring Park to Vista, making it one of the longest flow parks in the country. Spring Park is a creative terrain park that was designed in collaboration with Snow Park Technologies (SPT), the world’s leading consulting team for special projects on snow, that gives users unlimited options and the ability to session unique combinations of features every single run.

Spring Park at Mt. Hood Meadows will offer nearly a mile of jumps, rails and features that will begin on the upper mountain, continue on the lower mountain through Daisy Bowl, and end at the entrance to the resort’s 18-foot halfpipe. One of the longest terrain parks in the country, Spring Park is chock full of rails, combo jibs and wall rides, and contains primarily medium and large features geared primarily toward intermediate and advanced skiers and riders.
Meadows Mountain Operations Director Tom Scully says the return to Vista was the natural choice. “We’ve experimented with different locations, and we are always led back to this terrain which is ideal for flow, progression and innovation. It’s a long park that allows park riders to challenge themselves, get creative and have fun, all serviced by the Vista Express chair. We’re stoked to have the park back in this location.”
This is the third season Meadows Parks has collaborated with SPT. “This year’s incarnation of Spring Park begins with four medium and large jumps that flow into a variety of rail features that encourage riders to hit different lines every time. The natural flow of the terrain and features on Vista inspire a creative, yet challenging park set-up,” said Elliot Cone, SPT project manager and lead operator. Prior to building Spring Park at Mt. Hood Meadows, Cone was responsible for the build of the annual Burton US Open slopestyle course.
With the deepest mid-mountain snowpack in North America, Meadows has announced daily operations through April 17, and weekends through mid-May. In addition to Spring Park Meadows offers three other terrain parks designed for varying ability levels, plus an 18-foot halfpipe.
