Hood Meadows during the Annual NSAA Conference in Nashville, TN. Each year, Chill recognizes one of its host mountains for the high level of on-snow instruction it gives to Chill participants as well as other support of Chill throughout the season. Thank you for all that you do for Chill!

In the past two seasons, Mt. Hood Meadows has served over 180 youth through the Burton Chill program. All were first time snowboarders and for most of the youth it was their first time seeing mountain snow. Meadows provided rentals, lift tickets and the experience of being taught by some of finest instructors in the sport at a nominal fee. The experience of six weeks changed the youth's lives with them learning about real world life skills, Respect, Responsibility, Patience, Pride, Courage, and Persistence - the themes for the program.

Chill’s Portland Program Manager Michael Watts credits Meadows and especially our instructors for making the program so successful for Chill participants. “Meadows made this first time daunting experience as easy and fun as it could be. Everyone at Meadows was able to get the youth and chaperones pumped about snowboarding. The instructors were knowledgeable and fun, and even bonded with the youth. Overall, Meadows gave the experience of a life time for our youth and made lasting impressions while instilling passion for the sport.”

Portland CHILL Progam Manager Michael Watts presents Meadows C.O.O. Jake Bolland with an award of appreciation for Meadows support of the program.
