La Nina forecast for this winterOur local meteorologists have weighed in and sized up the winter forecast, saying odds are we should see more snow than normal on Mt. Hood. Good for Hood - great for skiers and snowboarders.

Here’s what they have to say, with a link to each of their forecasts:

Fox 12 Meteorologist Mark Nelsen: “Lots of precipitation and cool weather systems = tons of mountain snow.” That's his graphic above.

KGW Meteorologist Rod Hill: “The best bet calls for a solid year of total snowfall with Meadows seeing more than 400 inches… Odds favor a good start to the season with a decent snowpack build during the month of December.”

KOIN Meteorologist Kristen Van Dyke: - “with La Niña on the horizon, the odds are even better to see more snow on the mountain.”

KGW Meteorologist Matt Zaffino: “I think we’ll have well above average snowpack statewide …This should a great year to get a lot of use out of a season’s pass at your favorite ski area.”
