Mazotfest, das tables freestyle trick competition and scenic snowshoe hike highlight Earth Day festivities Saturday
(Mt. Hood, OR, April 20, 2017) — Mt. Hood Meadows has partnered with the Mt. Hood Express transportation service to provide free shuttling to the ski area from Sandy, Oregon Saturday, to celebrate Earth Day. The shuttle will run on a continuous schedule between Sandy and Meadows, and shuttle passengers will be rewarded with Meadows’ water bottles, KIND bars and a raffle entry. Those car pooling on Earth Day (with four or more people in the vehicle) will also receive water bottles and KIND bars and entry into the raffle featuring the ultimate carpool package: Oakley goggles (2 pairs), Yakima roof box, Salomon snowboard and DaKine backpack (2 packs).
Shuttle Schedule
Meadows has a variety of events Saturday, headlined by Mazotfest - a fundraiser for the Meadows Avalanche Dogs. Participants dress like pirates (optional) and race on a fun course near the Mazot midmountain restaurant. The entire course is spectator friendly with great viewing areas. Entry fee is $10 for two races and registration takes place the day of the race. The avy dogs will be on hand to cheer the racers on.
Adidas puts $5000 in cash and prizes on the line in the novel Slide Table Trick competition on two picnic tables right in the Fun Zone in the Base Area. Competitors can register morning of and it will be a great spectator event with the event viewable from the Sun Deck.
Classic rock, jazz, psychedelia and everything in between collide and fuse around the notion of discovery that jumps with ease from the composer to the listener... Pemberton is a multi-genre master and a clever lyricist who can convey fun while digging deep. Scott will perform outside on the Sun Deck, or move inside depending on weather.
Vista Scenic Guided Snowshoe Tour
Mt. Hood Meadows offers guided snowshoe tours from the top of its Vista chairlift. The experience includes a ride up the Vista high speed quad, and a gentle hike along the spectacular White River Canyon, above timberline and into the wooded areas of Mt. Hood Meadows. This spectacular experience is topped off with dining at the Alpenstube restaurant. (Reservations required.)
