Beer and Cider Fest Cancelled Saturday but Brew Masters Dinner will be presented

Categories: Culinary Services Guest Connection

With a forecast for a mix of rain and snow at Mt. Hood Meadows Saturday, Beer and Cider Fest organizers have decided to cancel the event, which was originally postponed earlier this month due to the threat of fire in the Gorge and on Mt. Hood. V.P. of Communications Dave Tragethon says the forecast would not allow for an enriching and enjoyable outdoor experience, saying, “The forecast high of 40 degrees really puts a chill on the event, and the rain and snow is also a dampener. We just don’t feel that our guests would want to brave this kind of weather to socialize and fully enjoy a festival.” The cancellation will bring to an end Meadows summer scenic chair and BBQ operation.

The Fall Harvest Brew Master’s Dinner will be presented as scheduled beginning at 5:30 Saturday evening. The five course menu designed by Executive Chef Daniel Dehay has been paired with Double Mountain brews and served in the Alpenstube restaurant. Some seats are still available online at

As the Beer Fest was to be the first official 50th anniversary event, the awarding of the first Golden Lift Ticket will have to wait, most probably at the Slabtown First Thursday Block Party at 17th and Northrup October 5. Meadows will also present the official 50th anniversary brew - the A-Zone IPA bottled by Double Mountain Brewery in Hood River.
