Mt. Hood Meadows presents the Beer and Cider Festival originally scheduled for Saturday, September 9, will be postponed to Saturday, September 30. With the current fire situation we feel it is better to wait a few weeks when hopefully the fire threat has subsided. Then we can celebrate the changing of the seasons with flavorful microbrew. The event will be in full view of spectacular Mt. Hood, staged on the resort’s outdoor Sun Deck.
Entrance to the event is $14 (for ages 21 and older) and includes four (4 oz) drink tokens and a commemorative keepsake Meadows 50th anniversary logoed mug. Additional tokens can be purchased for $1 each. The event will officially kick off Meadows 50th anniversary season of celebration with the debut of the A-Zone IPA Golden Anniversary brew.
Vice President of Communications Dave Tragethon is excited about the 50th anniversary season, saying, “We are proud to launch the golden anniversary celebration with Oregon’s best micro-brewers, many located here in the Columbia River Gorge. We are so fortunate to have some of the ‘Best of Craft Beer’ Award Winning microbrews in the country served right here at our event.” This year more ciders have been added to add to the variety of the fest.
The 50th anniversary celebration will officially kick off with the awarding of the first of fifty “Golden Tickets”, which includes two lift tickets, a 50th anniversary gift bag with a $50 gift card, commemorative pin and certified entry into a drawing to win a 50 year season pass to Mt. Hood Meadows. That drawing will be January 27 at the official 50th anniversary party celebration at Meadows, and only 50 people will be registered to win the 50 year season pass.
