Warm wet rain prevents Friday opening as we set our sights on the weekend

Categories: 50th Guest Connection Media Center Weather Blog

The Toyota live stream cams tell the story - we've received too much warm, wet rain to be able to open Friday. That's a bummer, but we tend to be optimists in the ski business. This week's five-and-a-half inches of rain had the potential to be five feet of snow - with cooler temps. And in fact we did get some snow additional snow accumulation on the upper mountain earlier in the week.

With a dip in the freezing levels there is snow in our forecast - hopefully enough for us to harvest and build up the ramps and base area snowpack for a potential opening this weekend. We will assess on Friday and announce Friday afternoon for any Saturday opening.

Until then - we hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving, shared with family and friends. Turkey up, watch some football, and get ready for a great season! It's only a matter of time until we will be open for our 50th anniversary season!
