5th Annual Uphill Challenge and 5K Mountain Run at Mt Hood Meadows

Running the Uphill Challenge at Mt. Hood MeadowsThe 5th annual Uphill Challenge will be run August 4 at Mt. Hood Meadows. The 1.2 mile uphill course gains 621 feet in elevation from the base area parking lot to the top of the Stadium Express. All category winners receive a custom branded trophy and the fastest man and woman each receive a $250 cash prize. Registration is $20 in advance ($15 for ages 14 and under).

Bernard Seeger's record-setting time from the inaugural Uphill Challenge at Mt. Hood Meadows still stands.This year’s Uphill Challenge at Mt. Hood Meadows will appeal to mountain trail adventure runners, as a 5K Mountain Run has been added. From a common start, the 5k entrants will run the Uphill Challenge course to record their time, then continue on to the Timberline Trail for an additional two miles. The trail winds across the Meadows permit area, through forest along creeks and across fields of wildflowers. The 5k registration is $35 (which includes the Uphill Challenge event), $30 for ages 14 and under.
