Holiday snow enthusiasts took the plunge into continuous freshies today at Mt. Hood Meadows. The ten inches of new snow that fell in the last 24 hours served as the soft powdery frosting on the cake of five feet of snow received this last week.
It’s the best of both worlds - the most amazing cartable soft packed powder on the groom, and powder plunging off piste.
Be aware of tree wells - and always ride with buddies and keep each other in sight! If you’re heading into gated access terrain we strongly advise bringing a buddy, beacon, probe and shovel.
Deep Snow Safety
We thank everyone who is prepared for wintery driving conditions with vehicles equipped with traction devices. Thanks for putting the chains on early! We’ve noticed a lot more car pooling on these busy days, and the free Hood River shuttle filling up as well. If we all work together there’s room for everyone - even on these most popular days!
