Winter Summer Clash Meadows Offers Memorial Day Weekend Operations

A snowboarder makes a spring carve on Cascade at Mt. Hood Meadows(Mt. Hood, OR — Immediate Release) — It’s the intersection of winter and summer, Memorial Day Weekend at Mt. Hood Meadows. Meadows plans to operate two lifts - the Daisy chair and the Cascade Express quad to access spectacular wide open snow fields Saturday, Sunday and Monday of Memorial Day Weekend. Lift hours are 8 AM - 2 PM each day weather and conditions permitting.

The terrain will be for intermediate and advanced riders, and Meadows will offer three day race camps and weekend skiing and riding improvement camps. A guided Scenic Snowshoe tour with uplift on Cascade Express will be offered Saturday. Overnight RV parking will be available for those that want to make it a weekend - spaces can be reserved online in advance.

Spring riding on Cascade at Mt. Hood Meadows2018/19 Value, All Access and Spring Pass holders receive FREE lift access, as will next year's (2019/20 season) pass holders, including Sahale Gold Members. Five and Ten Time pass holders can use any remaining days over Memorial Day weekend. Tickets will be $49 with advance discounts available online. Meadows will rent ski and snowboard equipment. There’ll also be a party on the Sun Deck all three days!

Come take your skiing or riding to the next level on Cascade Express’ varied terrain. Groomed runs, Spring corn and Marmot Ridge’s natural features are a playground of natural opportunity. From honing your carved turns to challenging your off-piste tactics and technique to building your freestyle skills on Mt. Hood’s natural features – Cascade has it all.Freestyle/Freeride participants: please note that there will be no man-made terrain park features but plenty of opportunity to hit some “old school” natural features on Cascade. Groups will be based on skiing/riding ability, personal goals and number of participants signed up. Participants must be comfortable parallel skiing and/or comfortable making toe-side and heel-side turns on a snowboard on Blue groomed terrain. Instruction time is 4 hours each day from 9am to 11am and Noon to 2pm with a one hour break for lunch slope side at the top of Cascade. Plan to bring everything you need with you in a backpack including a sack lunch, personal water bottle, extra clothing and personal snacks. Bags will be stowed in a designated area at the top or bottom of the lift based on weather.

Come take your skiing to the next level with Giant Slalom Race Training on Cascade Express. Maybe you’re a veteran GS skier or just wanting to see what it’s all about. Come to this 3 day camp to learn about GS racing and improve your skiing in general by challenging yourself inside a GS Race Course. This camp is intended as a skiing improvement opportunity using GS Race Training, so even if you’re not a ski racer you’ll learn and have a good time. Groups will be based on skiing ability and racing experience dependent on number of participants signed up. Participants must be comfortable parallel skiing on Blue groomed terrain. Coaching time is 4 hours each day from 9am to 11am and Noon to 2pm with a one hour break for lunch slope side at the top of Cascade. Plan to bring everything you need with you in a backpack including a sack lunch, personal water bottle, extra clothing and personal snacks. Bags will be stowed in a designated area at the top or bottom of the lift based on weather.

A high mountain snowshoe tour accessed with a ride to the 7,300 foot level on the Cascade Express. Spectacular scenic vistas, an overlook of White River Canyon and up close viewing of high altitude vegetation including the awe-inspiring white pine. Price is $75 and includes tour, chairlift ride up Daisy and Cascade, snowshoe rental, and a BBQ lunch on the Paradise Sun Deck, which also marks the endpoint of the snowshoe trek.
